Not to say that I hate the modifier - I think it can be a lot of fun and really interesting. It’s just not that right now, and basically Fog 2.0: Kan’t See Kark, Kaptain.
I would like blackouts to have oil lamps and other stuff strewn about to provide warm, natural light, and to let us see where we’re going, and enemies near those spots. It doesn’t have to cover the whole area, just enough to get your bearings. Surely people would have backup lighting in the event of a blackout?
agreed, its one of my fave mods. Really makes a good change up to the game. But some areas are more equal than others.
The area after the first drop in Vigil Station seems to have gotten darker. You can’t see shite.
And I know that map intimately from my Havoc 1.0 climb.
I like the minimal glow of lamp idea, just dispersed disparately enough along the main path to keep you oriented.
Yeah, I actually like this modifier on a couple of maps due to the ‘natural light’ reason, I sadly don’t attribute maps with names in my head due to how long and ‘weird’ they are but ‘the one where you hold out in the one big church room before going up an elevator’ is rather nice, because in that room specifically you’re ‘turning on the lights’ and it actually illuminates it slightly up until the servo skull needs fixing, and then it goes dark indicating to you visually you gotta fix it. It’s kinda nice.
But then there’s so, so many other areas with no in build lighting and it’s like cool the literal hive undercity above me is completely black and there’s nothing to see besides the muzzle flashes of my gun, what is happpeningggg, and those are the only missions I look at a Inferno Psyker and go thank the emperor you’re here because now all the enemies glow blue and the area in front is lit up in flame XD.
