Black screen GPU driver crashes

Ever since the new update Ive been getting black screen crashes that require a hardware reset of the PC . This is the ONLY GAME on my system that causes crashes on my system.

At times I have to reinstall the GPU drivers completely because the driver corrupts and breaks and Adrenalin cannot launch. Using SFC in CMD sometimes reports corrupted windows system files as well.

This game is quite literally breaking my PC at times.

Specs:
AMD R7 2700x CPU

AMD 5700xt sapphire pulse GPU

16gb ram 3200 Mhz

The aggravating part about this issue is that there are NO crash logs that I can report and the launcher for the game tells me that it fails to upload any to fatshark .

Please refrain from comments regarding AMD hardware as these will be ignored . As I stated before I have played games as intense as cyberpunk / modded 4k Skyrim and not had these issues before .

Further recent stress testing of the GPU has indicated that the crashes only happen during gameplay of darktide. And the weird part is that my GPU sits at a chilly 70 degrees Celsius even at max settings, probably with the help of FSR 2.

Goal of this post:

Make the issue aware and maybe get some tips from devs/ community to fix the issue .

PLEASE NOTE:

I have already followed the GPU crash guide

Set threads to 1, lowered overclocks and outright turned them off. Even played on lowest settings, disabled overlays and turned off AMD driver software features such as anti lag and boost.

My friend BillyFishKins has indicated that it could be because its a directX12 application but this issue didn’t start until the veteran tree keystone update and the addition to the carnival map.

Please help. This game is a lot of fun but its getting to the point where I tell my friends I don’t even want to play with them out of frustration.

Thank you.

Unfortunately there could be so many reasons for the PC losing responsiveness, either driver or hardware-related.

You’ll want to have a look here: https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360038965013--PC-How-to-Resolve-PC-Crashes-Loss-of-Responsiveness-or-Blue-Screens-BSOD-

It’s very hard for us to identify these issues as there is ultimately an underlying issue.

I understand Darktide is the only one presenting these issues at the moment - likely due to how demanding it is - but in most cases these issues eventually start presenting elsewhere too.

I’m also happy to assist with a refund if you would rather take that option.

I’ve been having the same issue as well, but also happening in Vermintide 2 - absolutely no other games besides Fatshark games crash let-alone hard reset crash.

I play other demanding games on highest settings with no issues at all but as soon as I boot up a tide game it’s crash central.

Same issue. Also running a very similar setup with the same gpu (5700xt) but with a 3600 CPU. Seemingly random hard crashes with black screen and reboot. The only other game ive witnessed this happened (though far more consistent and downright unplayable) was god of war. No game error log could be found, and the windows error logs arent super helpful.

Ive updated my chipset driver and did a complete clean reinstall of the gpu drivers. It did seem like it improved at first but after a week it was placebo at best.

Turning my lighting setting down helped somewhat. Still crashes, though not as frequently. Its not a power issue as this game at my settings doesnt even surpass 200 watts - there are other games ive tested that ran far more wattage but has never crashed.

Had similar issues, i had to turn off Raytracing entirely or the game would just crash
