Black screen after character select

Issue Description:
Came back after about half year break. Had to verify cache after a crash. Played a few missions with no issue. Now the game hangs at black screen after operator select every time. Can still hear music and move cursor but shows as not responding in task manager.

Attempted fixes:
Verify game integrity cache.
Uninstall and Reinstall.
Restart computer.
Delete darktide directory in appdata.
Install latest Nvidia drivers.

try toggle windows HDR mode on / off. press alt tab repeatedly until ur screen display reappear.

what happens when you reset your grafic-drivers with Win + Ctrl + Shift + B during that screen?

To be clear I still hear music and see the darktide cursor. But the program is not responding and I have to kill it with Task manager. Also Win + Ctrl + Shift + B also did not unfreeze.

Please check the Windows Event Viewer - are there any errors that correspond with when this occurs?

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Conduct a search for ‘Event Viewer’ and select the app
  3. In the sidebar, expand the ‘Windows Logs’ dropdown
  4. Select ‘System’
  5. Search for errors that correspond with Darktide losing responsiveness
