The Noble Knight makes me question my dancuality! He is the man I would want beside me in a dance off. With Jim Carrey on the other side. What a team they would make me!!! (Im not a dancer, but I think they would make up for it).
Are you gonna elaborate on that?
I dont know what people expect. Any game, no matter the frequency or size or quality of updates, gets boring if one grinds it out like a sigma goggins on a mission.
Agreed, except for Darktide, which I never get bored of for some reason (even though I whinge about the game sometimes).
The penance update was a big boost for me because I now have specific goals to achieve while running my Maelstroms (Cyber-Falcon is the best title).
I finished Heavy Hitter yesterday, thus my class penances are done.
I still have some of the map’s “Tours” to complete, as well as some of the gimmicky penances: “put thingy in within 5 seconds,” “don’t set off more than three mines,” and “push ten heretics into the fan.”
I’m hoping they’ll add more rewards to the track, as I’ve already received every reward currently available.
There’s lots of games I still play that have no grind element for me. Including helldivers 2. I reached resource caps and unlocked everything. All warbonds. I farmed 8,000 SC before they removed the exploit. I play it whenever friends want to and still have fun.
(Mastering the timing on this is rewarding, like in tide games).
I punch Devastators and Hunters to death when I get the chance. F*** those guys.
I deffo have some games, both with and without grind, that I go back and play semi-regular. Warframe, PoE, V2, DT, Minecraft, Factorio, Terraria, DoW 1 and DoW2:Last Stand to name a few.
I think the secrect is not to “grind” them, just play them when the feels require that hit of that particular game.
Sometimes I get deep and play solid for 6months or more but that happens less and less and I grow older.
I have friends that consume games at an alarming rate. They bend them over and roger roger them in a few weeks and move on to the next
Makes sense to me. Games shouldn’t be a second job you feel you have to constantly sign into to feel like you’re not falling behind on.
I have been playing less games in general but that’s just because I am busy with other things currently (renovations, aerial silks, e-foiling, kayaking, portaging, board games, DMing a Pathfinder 2e campaign, general adult life, etc.).
And even then when I am playing games I frequently do things like VR dance dash for exercise. Or I am playing a game like Baldur’s Gate 3 which will take awhile (have a single and multiplayer run going at the same time).
So yeah I have to pick and choose what I spend my time with wisely. I used to play a lot of Warframe, but the time demand was too great for me. Same with Darktide. So I pick other games. And I don’t mind consuming games quickly (single player games). If the price is right, even if it’s only a few hours that can be worth it to me, like seeing a movie. Some of my favourite games are like that (Adios on steam is very short but very memorable. Someone on the forum’s recommended “Sheepy” and that was also pretty good [and free]).
But I am rambling now. Back to this XGM conference.
I had Darktide on my SSD from release until about March of this year before I uninstalled it. I reinstalled it a few days prior to the Path of Redemption update.
Thats exactly what the games say!
I’d rather be the one who is bent over so that the game can fill ME with its content
Hmm, now Im hungry!
For content… Right?
I must consume something and at this point idc what it is!
