Ogryn and various weapon changes drop:
For ogyrn yes
Seems like he’s getting some love rather than anti abhuman hatred
But no shotgun buff and ds and Voc remain in their current broken state, you do you fs balance team.
I will take positive progress over Fatshark setting all of the balance on fire for no reason and screwing up perfectly good weapons
I personally think people will forget about the DS when these Ogryn changes are live. I think they might’ve gone very overboard with buffs, but I’ll reserve judgement for when I see what’s actually possible to grab in a tree
Then they will buff other things etc.
Exactly why I want a solo game mode. This is ridiculous the balance state. You cannot use a lot of weapons except if you just wanted to watch a movie.
A few thoughts.
Right now the reason plasma is king is largely because of its penetration. If you’re gonna give us 25% ammo in havoc 40, and throw twice as many enemies at us, killing one enemy per shot is no longer enough. Plasma Gun is the only weapon up to the task because of its basically unlimited penetration.
I feel like in order to improve weapon viability, they need to start improving penetration values for more weapons when in ADS fire mode. Maybe not easy unlimited penetration like on plasma, but something. Maybe just an extra 1 enemy penetrated, or blessings giving free penetration on certain conditions like crits or weakpoint kills.
Giving a bit of penetration to boltgun ADS fire mode would improve its ability to play workhorse weapon with the vet, without increasing the strength of boss mag dumps on the zealot.
There’s a balancing problem with Havoc I didn’t see addressed in KJeraD’s work much. The developers said the intent of the mode was to require frequently changing your builds/team comps/strategies but the reality is that a few meta options beat all levels/modifiers. While certain strategies/builds might work slightly better for specific modifiers, once you’ve found the one-size-fits-all meta, that’s pretty much it. I don’t even bother reading the modifiers anymore because it doesn’t change how I play.

I can only hope the new modifiers they’re planning to add do more to require adaption.
For Zealot, I think the weapons are in a good place, but the talent tree needs restructuring. It’s too restrictive for multi-stratting and different path segments are just outright better than others, leading to a samey build for a lot of my builds (e.g. top right to knives, middle left to Benediction).
The talent tree oughta be opened up a little to encourage more exploration.
Also, completely irrelevant and butthurt side note, but I’m so sick of seeing firebombs and martyrdom zealots everywhere. They’re the weakest options for their respective choices, people. GOD.
If datamining is to be believed on the basis of some localization lines that were hotfixed shortly after being released, there’s been these two that were teased:
Some enemies have been blessed by the Lord of Pestilence, granting them healing powers, they will heal allies 10%/s and damage players 1%/s when in proximity,
Elite enemies fall into rage under 30% HP left, increasing their attack speed, damage caused and rendering them immune to crowd control.
Which fundamentally doesn’t change how you’d want to adjust for any of these modifiers. Kill pestilent enemies so they don’t drain your HP (I imagine this is going to be a nightmare to trudge through when paired with The Blight Spreads), and the other one will encourage bursting elites down lest they get dangerous out of scale and be slightly more wary with DoT damage in mind.
Again, I don’t want to base my entire expectation on merely localized text, but if these two are like that, I don’t expect the 2 outstanding ones to fall out of line in terms of the gimmicks they will introduce to overcome.
Yeah, they’re cool modifiers, but not meta-changing. If the other two are like these then my complaint persists.
I think we need a section on the Power Maul for Ogryn Weapons:
Feedback ranges from improving ease of activation to improving effects of activation, and of course the blessings mostly suck, but for the people who didn’t know water is also wet.
Putting this one in the main post, because it collates stuff pretty well imo.
@DrHammer did it again lads, enjoy this spicy balance take A Balancing Hot Take (Wear Gloves, Plug Nose)
I would also like to recommend this post for consideration:
