I’ve been trying to get this done for a while now consistently getting to 4/5 missions done only to join a game mid mission and load directly into the failure screen, which fails the penance. It’s getting frustrating to do this all the way to the very end only to fail with no input form me. Not a second of game play just straight into the fail screen. Really wishing that there was an option to only join at match start and if there is one I’ve not found it and would greatly appreciate being told where it is.

If you repeatedly fail at 4/5, make sure to not join into an ongoing mission next time.
For your 5th mission, wait for a new maelstrom to appear on the board and start that one.
Fresh on the board means, that there is no lobby that is already failing.
Thats the best you can do with the options that we currently have.

When there’s a specific mission I want to do, I just check Live Mission Board Tracker for Darktide - Mission Tracker - Darktide WH40k to see if it’s available before I login. You can filter the missions based on difficulty. The one with a skull icon is the Maelstrom mission. Right now the Auric Maelstrom mission is Power Matrix HL-17-36, and it expires in 10 mins or so. That means there’s going to be a fresh one soon that you can start.
That sucks! Add it to the list of Reasons why I don’t quickplay.

I think they want to avoid the play from the start option because it would be difficult for a game with quitters to get someone to fill. Maybe the achievement should only count when we play at least 3 minutes.

Gotta love joining random auric t5s and the only players waiting to respawn all wearingt the survivor title proudly. Oh the irony.
