Only, penances require us to complete as many of those type of missions as, say, strike missions.
What drives me up the wall is that we HAVE missions that by all rights should be investigation (Archivum Sycorax) or repair (the other forge mission and the Torrent water supply run).

Yeah, as Ragnarok said even just changing the label of a few missions that really should be these types would be nice. The amount of Archivum Sycorax that Iâve finished and wondered âwhat if Iâd be done with the tier 2 investigations by now?â is just, a lotttttt.
And reduce the padding to the artificial gameplay loop by making you waste your time waiting for the mission type to become available? Heresy!!
Next youâll suggest something as silly as removing the weapon locks or making material farming and weapon crafting less of grindy chore. Canât have that.
At the end of each mission there is a team mechanic, carry ammo, carry canisters etc
Would love more mechanics during the mission instead of just at the end in future maps.
Some good ideas in VT2 like escort segment of mining cart, grabbing and throwing barrels into pit, lowering the drawbridge, some more boss battles
Imagine an end mission mechanic you had to do that required a little coordinationâŚbut at the same time as a boss!
Can have segment of carry power cell throughout mission. I was in a group that did this in DT just to add challenge and everyone just played along to bring power cell into extraction.

It is about time we could earn a reward for Daemon Host. Dockets, plastel, something in game for rest of the mission that benefits.
I want a mission utilizing trains. Why canât we ride along a heretic cargo line and destroy a couple station roadblocks they set up along the way? Itâd be a perfect opportunity to have âsit and waitâ events that are cool because youâd be riding on a train. At the end of the mission the line is clear and a train bomb is sent down the hereticâs face. Big satisfying pay off.
Honestly I just want more missions with good action and pacing, servo skulls are starting to be really grating. I like the power cells and similar objectives that are more dynamic and involved.

We do ride a vertical train in one map. Thatâs kinda neat.
But I recall them saying at some point, many years ago in VT era, that they didnât want to do a lot of vehicle-bound sequences anymore because a lot of people complained about The River Reik back in the day. Mostly complaints about the restricted movement and the inability to advance at your own pace.
Itâs a shame. I liked that map.
Yeah the severity of that event was more due to the spawns than anything else. I wouldnât want it as a rule, but itâs great as an event. Give me a defensible position (which the reik river wasnât) and let me hold the line.
The mission types are just arbitrary and not actual categories anyway. The only reason they segmented them into 7 (I think) categories is because they needed some filler in the form of penances and so they can say âSEVEN MISSION TYPES!â in marketting material.
In reality Iâd say thereâs 2 actual mission types that are actually distinct. One being assassination missions, the other being scanning missions like hab dreyko. The others are all a blend of reused objectives and the exact same stuff going on. How exactly are the ammo raid mission and the repair mission different? In both you go pick up the vacuum capsule and go place it in the spot it needs to go. How on earth are these different? They arenât
I think its funny that the Mercantile mission doesnât fit the Investigation criteria following that wide net either. Like the entire objective is locating the stim production in the districtâŚ
I guess you would need to scan with the auspex for it to qualify. Meanwhile Sycorax, where you do just that, doesnât. Yeah, they should just re organize the mission descriptions such that they have even numbers of each. They clearly do not matter, at all.
