I was looking at the arbitrator helmets… and there’s this one.
What this actually is… is a helmet from French and German history worn by Dragons and horseguards and the like.
Now, I don’t know of anyone in W40K lore who wear the Uhlan helmet/hat, which is called a Czapka. It’s from Polish Uhlans who were copied all over Europe.
They were known for their distinctive square top hat. The Czapka. The German Czapka is kind of ‘short.’ I, being a stylish Enforcer of the Lex, would prefer the polish Czapka, which is TALL.
Uhlans were known for their use of the lance.
In the 1996 film of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, (Fantastic film,) one of his comedies about mistaken identity… Orsino’s Dragoons wear the Czapka and a plain blue coat with brass buttons.
Now, I don’t want to give the film away too much, so here’s a music video that shows the Dragoons. TBH, I’d love it if we just lifted this stragiht from the film. This would be cool.
Heck, a Arbitator specific weapon like that, (Martini rifle, single shot lever action opening weapon) might be cool if there is a Martini somewhere in lore. Unsure if W40k has ripped off the Martini yet.
If you have not seen the film (or the play) I highly recommend watching this with the sound off to preserve the story. (Major spoilers. Great story.)
P.S. If possible, I’d like to also have more PLAIN outfits. All our clothing is… covered with nicknacks. I’d love the ability to NOT have extra bits, seals, random ammo… but just to look slick. I know from the modders it’s possible to turn these extra bits off. Can that be a thing soon?
