Arbites, Fatshark, and the actual "good" weapons

thats why ogryns are doing these stupid damages with maces in my games today

It’s funny that you mention Bully Club on Ogryns considering that Pickaxes are equally as good and no one plays them because people are afraid to try things. Relic Blade can also keep up with Duelling Sword in damage output. Most people who metaslave don’t actually know what is good in this game. Buy the dlc and play what you like.

Guys calm your horses, the class is not even out yet. I understand that some content creators already had time in explaining the class but those are still just their first impressions. Besides it’s about time the regular shock maul gets a bit of spotlight, and even if it’s really best in slot it doesn’t look ridiculously broken like a DS so I’m fine with it.

this was bound to be the curse of blunt weapons, I’m just glad the class is good without totally warping the experience and tossing the gameplay for like 6 months (looking at you sister of vegetables). boltgun is stupidly broken since they removed the aiming requirement and tuned crit damages almost where the revolver is at. which is also broken because its another ranged with a big asterisk on ‘aiming’ to where it may as well have a Kickback sized crosshair on screen.

also skullcrusher has been tuned way too powerfully along with several blessings since the blessing patch. its just most noticeable now that ogryn has juiced melee power and isn’t stuck in the range of like 200 power light attacks from those weapons. I got a 1700 hit on a crusher with the strikedown light without even using carapace or hard knocks node the other day. you can send it even higher. Pre patch it was pretty hard to go over 800. another thing about the blessing is that it affects all sources of damage - from the team, AoE - all buffed possibly 80% during those stagger frames. this is why chaos spawn gets melted while it can’t do anything.

Well the only place to see Skullcrusher buff is Psykanium for most, Skullcrusher doesn’t show stacks because it’s not a player-side buff rather it’s kind of a debuff against enemies. That’s crazy strong if true. Also it doesn’t say the max stacks on the actual Blessing description so there’s that to consider…

What are you talking about? For roughly a year the pickaxe was one of TWO melee weapons Ogryns would bring (the other being the shield). Specifically Karsolas. Ask any Ogryn what the best melee weapon was prior to the rework and they’ll tell you it was either the Pick Axe because of its sheer damage output against everything, or the Shield because of H1-cancel spam+Batter.

That’s why people use mods, my dude. And what Zoro said was true.

I am not asking to meta-slave, I just want the thematic weapons to like… not be objectively inferior.

I understand, but before we make snap judgments about buffing or nerfing, could we just play the class for a bit?

I’m just going off of what people who have been playing the class for several weeks have been saying. I wouldn’t call this a particularly baseless snap judgement.

That was then. Now you look at any Ogryn build in Party Finder and it’s Confident Strike Bully 3, Rumbler, and taunt.

Going to be lots of Arbites full teams. The possibilities…

Yeah, and what happened to make that change? Lol. Was it, perhaps, a revamp of the class’s skill tree? Or did this BIS weapon shift just happen in a vacuum?

My point was that people are afraid to use anything that isn’t the singular best weapon so I’m not sure what you are going on about at this point.

It is not really about players being afraid. Most people just do not want to feel like they are tying their hands with their chosen loadout.
Why struggle with a Shotgun, if you can pick the Zarona Revolver instead?

I wont argue that a lot of players run after whatever their favorite Influencer deems worthy, but it is also simply a question of how strong a weapon feels from the get go. The Zarona Revolver will always feel good. No matter what Blessings, or Talents you bring. It will just get progressively better if you figure out the right ones. Guns like the Double Barrel need specific Blessings and Talents to be considered a weapon and not concrete boots.

People will always lean into weapons that feel satisfying without jumping through hoops.

These weapons look plenty powerfull to me.

you have no idea what is good and in the hands of who. this is really a bit sad

Executioner shotgun looks like so much fun. Kinda how I use the Kantrael/Accatran already, except the damage seems way higher. That and the shot pistol look very fun. Blunts are unfortunately blunts and if their exclusives have to compete with ones that can run skullcrusher (indignatus crusher/shock mauls) well they might have done them a bit dirty there. other than that looks like fun. If nothing else 0.5s stamina regen and 3 base stamina means you can run whatever you choose and spam push attacks, which on some of their gear choices will be potent.

Skullcrusher is extremely strong and pairs well with Concussive. One or both components need nerfs tbh, SC is only on Crusher and OG Shock Maul. The classes biggest weakness is rapid boss eliminations. Bolter is the strongest anti-boss weapon. Its ttk on arbites matches a relatively nominal but not peak performance vet build.

Og combat shotguns do a lot too, good option for bosses. Executioner shotguns are not bad and neither is the arbites shock maul. I, personally, prefer the Executioner shotgun Mk3 over any option besides the shot pistol. The arbites specific weapons are very good. All of them. But you cant stop some people from percieved minmax situations even when the margins arent nearly so obviously in favor of their choices as they think.

Sorry for the double post but this is not a fear i have. Having benchmarked all of these weapons using my testing system i can tell you the following:

The executioners shotguns are not quite as powerful as maximal performance bolter outputs but they each have tremendously more ammo efficiency and can do almost the same thing. The mk3 guts mixed hordes of everything but maulers and crushers. The mk8 is half a sniper rifle and blasts crushers in a similar manner to the bolter.

The arbites shockmaul is extremely strong and its special attack is heavily underrated.

The shields arent tremendous power houses for clear times but they are not bad at all, solid as weapons. Like maybe b+ on the kill capacity and flexible with no clear “i cant kill that” problems but a PILE of defensive power on top. I dont rate a single weapon on this class below A in aurics and most are A+ in havoc.
