Antax V Combat Axe Lacking Cleave

I feel like this is a weapon that needs a buff to its cleave since patch 13. Its gimmick is that it’s a combat axe that has a cleave stat but it’s now meaningless with enemies being buffed and brutal momentum reworked. I’ve had rolls with low cleave and high cleave and they effectively have the same cleave on enemies in heresy and damnation.

I’d love some tips to make it work if you have any.

hv u tried with blessing decapitator + brutal momentum. aim for weakspot for best result.

The cleave stat matters more with power blessings boosting it. Makes it possible to run the Antax with pure power bonuses instead of brutal momentum without being stuck hitting a single thing most of the time.

The other draw of the Antax is having by far the best push attack of the bunch. Its special attack also feels the quickest and most useful of the trio. I’d say it’s pretty balanced against Rashad, the Achyls is the real black sheep at the moment, with its weirdly slower heavy chain and lacklustre light attack damage despite looking like it’s built to be the most single target DPS focused (most of its moves have like 0.01 cleave or something).

As people mentioned the higher base cleave does scale better with power bonuses compared to the other two variants. But in practice it’s basically a meaningless bonus if you don’t have power bonuses or the BM blessing because last I checked the only benefit of maxing the cleave bonus bar to 80% is that you get to hit an extra poxwalker and it has no effect whatsoever on anything with scab or dreg in the name.

They could probably boost the cleave bonus even more, that would make BM a little less meta and the cleave bonus bar less of a dump stat.
