this is a simple one but i decided to make it its own thing seperate from my other vet blitz idea which intially also was just for the general concept of a 4th vet subclass but a commenter on that post also mentioned that MAYBE these ideas could replace the god offal smoke grenade. with this idea is one that maybe would see the frag take the smoke grenades place while this takes the frags place as it makes it so all non pistol weapons (think plasma gun, bolter, autogun, and lazgun) become INFINITE but have a barrel overheat mechanic that if it overheats, then you need to wait for the barrel to cool before firing again as well as also having a slower weapon swap speed (the plasma gun would just have a higher heat buildup speed for its current overheat mechanic)
honestly this idea came from me thinking about the old fallout NV style miniguns with the giant ammo backpacks as well as thinking about how i still want the gunners heavy autoguns and hotshot lasguns and realising this could be made into an intersting ability for gunlugger style veterans that would make it honestly al the more fun having belt fed autoguns and recon lasguns attached to a giant battery backpack your wearing just sounded cool. really anything to replace the smokes with something either FUN and or USEFUL cause srly recently ive been seeing vets running smokes for the pennance and EVERY TIME, the smokes only BLIND US while the enemy shooters, shotgunners, gunners, an snipers can see us and shoot us just fine meaning every time they use it we have to stand and hold out of the line of sight of the smoke and wait for it to clear or rush through while getting cut down and just shooting the locations of the shots on us HOPING we hit the enemy gunners first…
You know, this doesn’t sound so bad. This could even be really underpowered with the increased weapon swap time and depending how much heat it generates. Losing access to grenades is a big deal and having infinite ammo may not be as busted as some think it is.

exactly, it would be FUN but non meta but also depending on how its balanced, still not TERRIBLE especially for making you more team orientated so your survivalist aura now only applies to your teammates cause really, the biggest benefit of psykers is that they DONT take ammo or nade spawns and when you see one or 2, you KNOW that its fine for you to take ammo unless the other person is lower (numeric ui is just a mandatory mod folks, please dont do us all a diservice and just download it)
So, you can actually buy backpacks for dockets. These could have some perks for them, like “being able to carry X% more ammo” or “can carry an extra consumable” instead of just being a purely cosmetic feature. This could also be a blessing option for curios tho, if they ever want to go that route.

thats and interesting idea but i feel like with the cashshop as it is, its too prone to be open to P2W which 110% would not be good for the games health from a PR standpoint as the current setup of the shop compared to vermintide 2’s FAR better shop is already contensious. my idea has it being a blitz ability thats just a one and done deal.

yea this pretty much. just like a blitz that REPLACES the smoke grenades and also moves the frag grenades to the spot smokes are while taking the frags spot in the talent tree so its this ability into survivalist aura and frags into the stealth vet line. pretty much its you becoming the master of support with honestly i feel like kraks should be moved to the left side with the executioners stance and than survivalists aura and this ability would be the center line with voice of command to really make the center tree ALL about support rather than the krak and damage boost you would want for the executioners stance being in that line of the talent tree

exactly, they would NEVER get away with that and worse, it would kill what community trust they have left hence why its not the best idea given the game and the current state of PR given they have only recently been earning back player trust since unlocked and loaded so its maybe best to stray away from THAT specific idea for now.
