That we don’t have more shovel variants. I am absolutely appalled and shocked that we do not have a glorious DKOK shovel variant with the Death Korps drip!
I would like to request shovel variants for all the great and mighty defenders of the imperium.
Joking aside, I do really want more shovel variants and buffs to shovels… Let me live the krieger meme dream… please?
He means the variants, Charlie. From the data mined stuff (which is now here, like the class trees :^) we saw a MK5 and MK2 shovel if I’m remembering the variant system numbers here right Ogryn shovels. I do not recall seeing Veteran ones but I would totally be fine with that too.
Especially since this build of Darktide does not let us slap chaos spawns anymore, on top of the other buffs shovel got I just threw my club in the garbage like I guess Fat Shark expects all us former wizards of bonk to do.
They already mentioned this in their Design explanation in an earlier blog post.
Every weapon has or is going to have a light, medium and heavy variant.
That means automatically that for every gun and weapon we only have 1 or 2 options, there will be others.
So the other two shovels will either be faster or stronger. I’m curious to see what it’s going to be, since the shovel right now is in a really weird spot.
I really hope the existing sapper shovel is the light variant. I have shovels with t4 decimator & uncanny stike, decimator & skull crusher that are near perfect rolls and I really struggle with it in damnation even after the buffs. however, i do like the increased mobility it offers.
I’d assume they would have a melee set up like the swords, where one is entirely swings across the screen for crowds and a single target push attack. Which would be the current shovel.
I think that light/medium/heavy set up is for ranged. Melee seems to be one set up with the standard 3 attack Vermintide series staples, and the others either single target or sweep attack focused.
