I got a near perfect shovel stat wise.
Used it on damnation and its pretty fun and move sets good.
Why is it so dam bad at damage.
It took 8 heavy swings to the body to kill a trapper and way to many hits to kill dogs and worthless vs mutants and bulwarks.
Seems like a shame since it’s really fun to use just undertuned in the damage. (Possibly my fault since it’s damnation)
Don’t worry it’ll get a massive buff soon.

Does it need a buff? I was under the impression that it has better defensive stats than the rest of veteran’s melee except for dodge distance and sprint speed

The source is their continued butthurt over the power sword and flamethrower being adjusted into ‘still some of the strongest weapons in the game’. Because they never booted the game and played with anything else we need to listen to them QQ about how unplayable they are in any thread tangently mentioning ‘weapons’.
‘Playing a game’ is not work, and nobody owes you anything if something is adjusted. You certainly aren’t owed something new and shiny with which to make mockery of the notion of difficulty every time they touch the game. If you don’t want to play Damnation and there be a challenge play Malice instead.

It needs Decimator to feel as if it’s doing anything damage-wise and even that isn’t too much. You should also use lights instead of heavies. Heavies are for CC, light is for damage.
While Flamer is still good and unique PS is in no way in the top weapon category anymore.

Guess what vet power sword and bolter is still the most powerful setup in this game easily even after fat shark’s sabotage. Maybe they will continue nerfing it in future who knows I would not be surprised in the slightest if they did now.

They could remove every single weapon except shovels delete every class and create a new one call The up hill gardener then you would all be perfectly balanced.

PS is still far above every Vet melee except a BM Combat Axe. So no, this is pretty far from an issue.
And this other clown literally just told me its still the strongest loadout in the game, while crying still that this is not enough. Jokes write themselves.
poke them in the head a couple times, you should be going for weakpoint hits if you’re trying to just kill. shovel’s main utility is crowd control
All the other weapons are crap. Not hard to be the best when the rest are so terrible. Kind of like why vets the strongest class. Solution should be to make the crap things better not make the good things crap.

Classes that aren’t veteran aren’t playable either. The entire game is straight up impossible to play without clown shoes easier than Sedition DMG reduction up at all times.

Not really. There is basically zero reason to pick it currently. As you said BM Caxe is better, and if you want something else like mobility you go for Knife or Taxe. It’s better than Catachan I give you that, but that’s like bottom of the barrel stuff. It falls way short of the top weapon category.

Yes, there is no reason to run it. Its upsides compared to other vet options don’t mean anything while having a hefty downside.
Do you want general power? Go for Caxe. Do you want mobility? Knife. Do you want anti-crusher? Caxe, hell even Chain axe.
I can’t think of a weapon setup where I would want to run PS as a top pick and I play close to all ranged weapons, including Braced autogun, Laspistol, Plasma, and recon.
