Ammo cost for lasguns needs to be displayed

Previously all the Lasguns had 3 cost per shot and that was consistent and fine. Now some of them cost 2 and it makes comparing Ammo reserves between variants tricky.

Why is it not 1 to begin with? Are there alternate fire modes that use different amounts?

Charged bayonet lasgun shots cost around ~10 or so, depending on the charge level iirc.

There is an efficiency perk for lasguns which gives them +33% reduced ammo cost if you don’t fire for X seconds. I still think this is a bit silly.

Why not have 1 shot = 1 ammo, and make the ammo reduction chance based instead… 33% chance for the shot to not cost ammo after not firing for X seconds.

I mean it’s already a fluffy sort of mechanic anyway, it doesn’t mean the ammo counter has to lie to you. Better yet - it’s a power pack, just give us a %age not a raw number, that would be less confusing than saying you have “75 ammo” in your gun, only to find that firing 25 times you run dry.

I would love to know what was going through the head of the person that decided that a weapon that always uses 3 ammo per charge, needed to use 3 ammo per charge.

Knock the cost down to 1 per shot, then divide the maximum ammo/magazine ammo by 3

why is this such a simple and obvious thing that nobody on this development team has fixed?

I’m not even mad about this, I’m just befuddled and lost as to how you can think this is a good choice.
