Am I the only who thinks this is utter BS?

Wrong. As a fact I started the thread with with a main point that isn’t the one you are making.

Yes, I read that already. How?

Makes sense, we have different main points because we have different view points.

Idk, that isnt my job, idc about the premium shop. I wont complain about the possiblity of me wasting money. If I see something I like, I wont buy it. If I see something I really like, I’ll probably wait for it to leave from the aquila store so I’m forced to not buy it. Last thing I’ll do is ask for free skins or a discount as a reimbursement for my own purchase/decision.

For once, correct.

Ah I see you have a grudge because I bought cosmetics and dared to suggest that something should change in the shop to make it less crappy. Gotcha.

You wanted free skins or a big discount on your next purchase bud. Thats goofy.

Ye, i got a grudge. I hate that u bought skins like i did. I hate the fact that you could possibly improve everyones purchasing experience including my own. :rage:

Funniest part is that the only suggestions you made were based on price/money.
Nothing about customization.

Honestly the fact you buy an outfit for that price that is colour locked so they can sell a different colour of the same outfit is bad enough. This example is just comical.

Ye the recyling of skins is getting on everyones nerves. Why cant we recycle the skins ourselves for free? Ah shi thats why, corporations hate the word “free.”

Okay! but…

This is goofier. Won’t happen. We can dream tho.

What are you talking about?

Like i said, if they removed locks, they can do anything ; WITH enough time and people power from the community. Though like i said, as the playerbase grows, the reasons to not change the cash shop grows as well. There are many ways to tackle this issue. Yall just need to come together on one big thing like what people did with the locks issue. Then again, like what i said about review bombing, maybe yall shouldnt be this peeved about the premium store issue in the first place.

What definitely wont work is complaining about prices. $10 aint much. No one expects anyone to buy skins every week/every drop especially when theyre all in rotation. No such thing as fomo when you dont really miss out.

Literally what I said? Not being able to customise the colours of premium cosmetics at the price they sell them for is absurd.

Reselling the same expensive cosmetic in a different colour is just insulting.

DRG still one of the few games to make premium cosmetics I’m actively excited to spend money on. All the permutations you can get from applying your previously obtained colour palettes to new models feels fantastic.

Ah sorry, I didn’t understand it. Thought you were talking about something I bought specifically. Definitely I agree with the DRG example.

Correct, that’s part of my point. I buy things only when they update the game with something important like they did now. Got into the shop and found this crap, and for me this was enough. I like some of the cosmetics, I would like to support them as I support the devs of DRG buying everything (even things I dont want that much), but this last thing (the topic of this thread) felt like too much for me.
Just like you said, I won’t miss out (considering what fomo is, I wasn’t anyway).

Honestly, complaining about anything won’t work if people keep buying, even the review bombing won’t do because this isn’t about game mechanics.
They were getting little money from me as I have explained, now they will get none.
I wanted to know what people thought, hence the poll. I don’t care what their reasons are to dislike the premium shop, some people would set for cheaper prices if there is no customization, some want to change how customization works completely. For me both are valid, even though the second option would be the best.

Yeah its all a big stretch. Thats why I also said that if people were to convice others of the shop being predatory, they have to do in a matter thats borderline hyperbolic to even drum up enough sympathy/support. But lol basically this poll is only for venting purposes :laughing:

No. The poll was for curiosity, as I see people in game buying even the most awful recolors. Luckily I am yet to see a vet with the bionec eye and hat, so maybe something is starting to change? Maybe.

Bruhhhh chill :joy: Lowkey saying darktide mfs got sh!t taste.

Maybe hopefully someday says the magic conch.

I imagine it would be a massive business decision to change the cosmetic monetisation strategy. I do feel they’d accrue more transactions with a more user-friendly system, but then again I’m just some small fish idiot gamer.

Here are my suggestions all the same :slight_smile:

  • Remove the cosmetic rotation and allow the full catalogue to be displayed permanently. Sure, the front page is the new stuff, but now you can browse for anything you want now that you may not have seen/wanted before.
  • Offer discounts for composite skins. “@Hrod-Ward, we see you have the bionic eye already. As a valued customer, we’d like to offer you the eye + hat combo at a discounted rate”. A cute little up-sell that dispels some of the bad feelings around asset re-use.
  • Take a similar approach to re-colours if you can’t just make them customisable. Show a little compassion, you spineless execs.
  • Offer Acquilas for event rewards, doesn’t even have to be that much. Just enough to get a foot into Hallowette’s… door. Duo benefit of fostering some goodwill and encouraging participation in events.
  • Finally, if you think people who have already bought Acquilas will be hard done by with any changes you make, give them some more. There are so many cosmetics to buy that I doubt you will lose more profits than the goodwill and future profits you will gain from this move. Except Xbox players of course, they get nothing!!! :wink:

Just… chill with the exploitative nonsense already. Y’all turned it around with the items finally, now make some money off the newly optimistic playerbase with a more friendly premium cosmetic system!

DIGITAL SCARCITY IS FAKE BS THAT NOBODY LIKES. YOU WANT PEOPLE TO LIKE YOU AND GIVE YOU MONEY, YES???

I think it’s clear to everyone, or at least it should be, the difference between Vermintide shop and Darktide shop… and how the latter has become so greedy and disrespectful to players

  • absurdly high prices…
  • …especially when we think of cosmetics simply recolored;
  • sets specially sold mismatched and separated;
  • fomo politics;
  • inability to change colors or customize (like this example)
  • need to buy via in-game coin (aka if a cosmetic costs the equivalent of 7€, you are still forced to load 10€ coins in game)
  • more examples of low quality, like low effort cosmetics or clipping issues

I am, however, voting with my wallet. While I am not a skins/cosmetics player, on Verntide I have bought several cosmetics… >>>here none to never will<<<

p.s regarding the comments above, I can only say: don’t feed the troll

Indeed, if they want to go for a model that is about flooding the marked with a lot of low effort/quality products, you have to make them cheap at least so it doesn’t feel like so much like scam.

Unfortunately for them, that’s what they’ll get from more and more customers each time they add some bs like what you’ve listed.

It would be good if people kept making threads like this one. The DKoK chest and head pieces still clip but no one complains anymore and so I doubt they will fix it. It will be the same with the shop if no one says anything.
