they go down in the first 5 seconds within back to back games
I use scoreboard mod, it shows me a direct correlation to the players commitment as well as their contribution and I’m flabbergasted when I see they’ve done 50k damage in 10 mins or maybe a bit more and here me and my friend are pumping out 180-200. Now I know a lot of people will say “damage isnt everything” but honestly? it is a LOT… because when things are dead, you dont have to worry about them.
I think its Tanner Lindberg who uses the phrase “death is the best CC”. This game offers meta/cookie cut builds for every single class it astonishes me when a guy whos completed havoc40 runs with a non-shout build (and its my fault for not checking first of course).
I just feel at a loss for words here because in a 20 min game seeing a guy whos done havoc 40 only tag 20 enemies (i think team average was like 85?) and seeing his damage half of everyone else really makes me question why its not possible to vote for a reset so we dont get penalized for having to drag some incompetent fool through a havoc 31 or greater.
Looks like they were using your Havoc 31 run for testing builds that they could’ve done in a session hosted themselves or in Auric, or they were just carried to Havoc40 through luck and/or OP builds.
Based on some of your other posts, I do think you put a little too much stock into the metrics you’re seeing on scoreboard.
That said, there is a mixed bag for havoc, the lovely problem FS created that no one was asking for.
40s that are good seem to tend to stay at 40 because they enjoy it. They also, occasionally, offer chances to <40 or even drag them along as an extra modifier.
Then those players have 40. What now? They didn’t really earn it and very likely learned nothing about strats Havoc requires, if they even learned the base game this day and age. They won’t have their own 40 assignment due to new systems, so they have to go lower if they keep playing havoc.
Players that earned their 40? Some of them go to lower levels to help (I have) and some go to mess around or even grief. It may be rare but not non-existent.
It’s just part of the glorious system we were bestowed by the player-friendly game designers.
Pulling teeth to make them get rid of derank, or do the right thing any other time as well.
Imagine if they had actual player-friendly, competent management to go along with their dev talent. Force of nature as a company in this space i imagine.
Yup devs already said once you get Havoc 40 now you can try new builds and not worry about losing or playing a build that helped you get to 40 in the first place. Its called having fun.
I am confident most people with H40 Rank/True Survivor/etc were boosted by fellas from discord, especially during season one, where you could just be a gold toughness bot and get max rank in a couple of games with high level hosts.
Same story with A.S.S. being usially the weakest link in the team.
I thought that was a phrase my dad coined, but maybe it was someone else - or just a general token of wisdom. Good advice, though.
Anyway, analyzing data and determining that someone sucks at the game isn’t that assholeish. Publicly posting about it is another matter and something I would consider bad form.
I forgot to take demolition team on my vet when we ran with is… sucks ill re-do that tomorrow it could have went totally different if i wasnt ill-prepared
