In fairness, thatās an easy miss. The Skitarii lore, particularly with their introduction to main 40k, has beenā¦weird. With that 7th ed codex (at about the nadir of tabletop 40kās popularity, things got bad in 6th/7th), they were split off and introduced as a separate army from the rest of the Mechanicusā¦purely so GW could run two months of White Dwarfs instead of one, and they got a bunch of lore about enhanced legs and not using transportsā¦because GW hadnāt made a transport model for the release (yesā¦no transport for the AdMech), only for that lore to get dropped later the next edition when they came out with a transport and folded AdMech and Skitarii back together 
Yeah, itās funny but despite Desperadoās nerf being nothing more than clunkier, itās damage potential is barely affected. I rarely see any in high-level games.
Incidentally, you tried Desperado with Braced Autoguns? Theyāre so crap that the class actually feels better for it.
