Actual progression path and not rng

There is already progression in terms of leveling in this game that isn’t bound to marketplace RNG why can’t this be the same for weapons? Currently I just log in, check the store, see junk, and move on. Sometimes I play the roulette wheel which is Brunt’s in order to acquire a better weapon but, that requires dumping 300-500k to snag a one to a few 370+ weapons. Even than the weapon being upgraded could go a route that makes it deficient whether it be a blessing or a raw upgrade power RNG wasn’t favorable.

Why not make weapons progression based where we use resources to upgrade them to the point of completion. I’m not talking about getting to orange or adjusting two blessings but, unlocking everything and maximizing the weapon’s complete potential rather than this endless RNG gameplay of hoping to acquire something the next login. It’s not a hard feature in my mind to come up with and it would add more of a path for players to achieve their goals for a particular build rather than having numerous of X variant type weapon based upon certain talent choices.

Having the ability to upgrade modifiers, perks, and blessings with them not being locked in would be preferable for a progression based game. Being able to swap perks and blessings at will once they’ve been unlocked would be better as well. Players can spend their currency on upgrading a weapon to completion rather than RNG upgrades to next tier just to destroy a bad weapon that didn’t go as planned.

Why is there so much RNG in weapons that you even have a resetting store? Is it really a requirement to have people login every hour to check to see if there is an upgrade for all of their characters? How do you not see it being unsatisfying for the player not acquiring upgrades after several sessions? Accumulate resources, burn it all on RNG upgrades, get something you didn’t want, repeat… Just create a progression path and let players build up their character’s arsenal while giving them the opportunity to try out different builds. Let people see that progression and have fun.

@brosgw got another one for you! He’s posted about this before but I don’t believe he’s been added to the Memorial?

One suggestion I have is to make the Melk gamble more appealing. If you could choose which weapon to roll, and have it guaranteed 380 stats, it would still be a massive time/resource/sanity sink to try and get ideal stat distribution!

Yeah, I don’t bother with Melk’s, his merchandise is always on par with Brunts, so there’s no point and Melks gamble has too much RNG involved to be worthwhile. i.e The weapon is random, the rating is random, the stats are random, the perks are random, no thanks.

The only time I use Melk is if I want curios.

Welcome 507. You and your thread have been inscribed.

Let us hope that there is real progression and less need for randomly checking in.
