So, there is a problem in Havoc specifically, when if somebody DCs or rage quits for good, nobody will be able to join your game instead of them.
But why not allow JIP from base game’s Quickplay, with some moderation? Here is how it could work:
- When hosting games in Havoc you can enable this feature if you wish (disabled by default)
- There would be one more checkbox in Quickplay’s settings, which, when set, will also include Havoc matches in the pool of games you could be sent to
- To be eligible to join a particular Havoc match you still need to have a sufficient clearance level (not necessarily the same, could even allow people which are 5-10lvs below the mission’s level to join; still better than bots)
- Before the JIP can happen, players are provided an ample time to reconnect to the game they left from, if they wish
- After the match the Havoc game’s hoster still can press the “merge teams” button if they liked your play and want to play a few more Havoc games with you - then those joined in progress get a pop-up asking them to agree to this
Seems like a win-win for everybody?
