A suggested fix to the zealot loner talent

That’s basically what I am thinking since that is what people claim they use loner for… But then formalizing the idea got met with a lot of backlash…

Its alredy kinda a meh talent.

This change would make it worthless.

It would actually be a buff if you were able to keep a coherency worth 4 for a while, perhaps it could degrade stack by stack too

But no yeah Psyker is probably worse in melee on balance. Veteran is still behind Ogryn and Zealot though.

The idea of letting the coherency bonus linger is probably fine, but I considered it important to include something for all the people who use Loner as a means of surviving when the rest of the team is dead, and a lingering bonus wouldn’t do that for long.

As for speed runners IMO:

The solution to obvious speed runners is aggressive kicking by the community. You race to the elevator spamming Go There gets an automatic vote to kick from me. You join the mission and announce you’ve unilaterally decided this is a Speed Run and get an automatic vote to kick too. You race ahead purposely activating everything that the rest of the team then has to deal with themselves, well you know …

Alternatively FS could enable solo mode for them to enjoy their anti-team playstyle. A Win-Win.

Honestly, yeah. Allow solo mode to work, make it so they don’t get any resources from it and no one’s time is lost.

Could be kind of cool if you maintained half the bonuses from other classes coherency bonuses while not in coherency instead. That, or maybe your coherency range is like doubled or something.

All that said it does kind of nerf the team when you don’t have a buff aura.
