A Possible solution for CDR talents [Warning, Stinky Hot Take]

I disagree, but just because I want freedom. The position of each CDR, already forbids you to take all. At max (without making a weird builds) you get 2 of them.
If someone wants to trade power for CDR, I don’t see why we should try to forbid it.
In fact CDR has a problem with team CDR: Seer’s presence, psykinetic aura (why a second aura for the psyker???) and Bruiser.
There’s also a need to cut by half the bonus of IoD.

The only broken CDR talent that needs to be looked at is Veteran’s Tactical Awareness. The rest are fine, both in fucntion and position.

My opinion is that CDR should never rely on killing.

this is the biggest problem of Auric.

Does it really matter? On Auric (and above) there is always stuff to kill, the conveyor belt never stops.

And why I say that these CDR should not rely on kills…

How can you solve the CDR problem (the ability to spam the abilities) if you make it that it always procs.
Part of the problem is the spawn fiesta and the CDR triggers (kills of elite or special for several of them).

I think it should be restricted and group cdr, apart from aura, removed. Flat % on kills removed in favor of the 100% regen boosts.

The actual easiest would be removing cdr altogether and true balancing CD as they typically are without reduction gimmick talents.

I think the general formulation would be, “Should never rely on something players not only want to do anyway, but do routinely.”

So, for example, basing CDR on tagging would work wonderfully.

Other solutions:

  • CDR on crits, on health remaining
  • Permanent CDR bonus
  • CDR on action (backstab but could be headshots for a veteran, a heavy hit to multiple enemies etc.)
  • CDR bonus scaling with coherency

I just say that CDR should never:

  • rely on kills, because if creates a problem to balance that
  • apply to the team, except for an aura (psyker)
