8 weeks to find a brutal momentum axe

After playing for 8 weeks and almost 500 hours RNGod Emperor was so kind to let me buy a brutal momentum Antax Mk5 to test it on my Psyker.
It has only 306 BR, but at least i finally found one of these Axes everyone is talking about with brutal momentum t3.

I had it on other axes, but also only 2 in total. One MK VII and one MKVIII, but i see the point with the MKV pattern.

I like my deflector Force Sword , i like my Maccabian Duelling Sword MK V and now i also like my new axe.

8 weeks, 482 hours Fatshark.
If this is intended to have player retention its clearly overstressed!

RNG is bad in general, but i got over it.
But most players wont and instead get over DT and play something less random and punishing when it comes to variety and player agency.

yesterday I asked on Discord if Brutal momentum was so great cause… I was not seeing any difference. So I asked about this and described my template (not critic) and my two good axes.
Here these axes:

Then I have learnt that this axe has a bug… When you think you hit the head with it, you don’t as it is considered you have hit the body. In other words, brutal momentum doesn’t work with it like it should.
Let’s say it differently. I have spent lot of time and material to craft several axes (like 1 month) to get an axe that can’t really work. I was using the first (thrust and headtaker) but if you can’t hit the head (or it is recorded as that rarely), then it is an useless weapon.
As we all know Fatshark, I can say good bye to these axes as they surely won’t correct the bug for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong looooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

I am a little (heavily) upset… :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

True - I yet have to find a power sword with power cycler. I was fixated enough to use the 5th character slot to level a second vet to 30 so I have two armouries to check - nope. No power cycler. Super frustrating.
RNG sucks.

Never gotten one either, but as a heads up - Brutal Momentum (or whatever it’s called on power sword) generally let’s you swing more before a recharge too, as long as you hit heads. Since you have infinite cleave, it takes longer for the charge to be used up. Probably not as good as cycler, but… that one seems nearly impossible to get. The actually good blessings have a much lower chance of appearing, so the RNG is truly weighted against the players.

Do i understand you right that this bug is only for the Rashad MK II?

I need to test my axe better as i havent played with an axe before really - i mean i have, but never consistently. This one i like to use and will use it for a while as long as it works for me.

On 2 missions, one Malice and one Damnation where it supported me well.
I cut of the heads of a hundred and thirty one lords - some lyrics are just in the head forever
(reference: GZA feat. RZA - Liquid Swords - YouTube) -

but thanks for hints to the bug, i had the feel the brutal momentum was working as intended mostly and i cutted through 2-3 poxwalkers and i also did headshots and decapitating worked well until.

Not sure i get what you want to tell me?!?
Not sure what the Rashad MK II pattern is, but afaik its the pattern of said Antax MK V that makes it so good.
And like i said i have decent Antax MK VII and MK VII one with Brutal Momentum also and it doesnt work like it does with the Antax MK V just because of the pattern it has.

It is only for Rashad. I was cutting heads also. But it you test in psykhanium, you can see that it doesn’t register hit as head but body (damages are lower).

I hope they will correct that… but I think my hopes won’t be fullfiled

The RNG in this reminds me of V1. As it took me just over 800 hours to drop a Lichbone! Still haven’t found a Atrox MkV Axe yet! The loot system again is a huge turn off. Even more so for me than V1. If not for mods both tide games would have been dead years ago. Will this game die quicker because of 0 mods?

i see your point and i have to say the only cause i can deal with it here is WH40k over WH Fantasy.
I tried V1 and disliked it because of RNG and never touched V2 therefore.
There were also other things i didnt like, players rushing several maps and most other maps beeing dead.
Its only because this game is WH40k and the atmosphere and some classes (Psyker and Zealot ) are fun and iconic to play for me.
But after a lot of hours already i start playing less and less and arent motivated much.
Its still fun for 1-2 missions, but the first time i may not finish the weekly contract for the one character i play atm. Never went for doing it for more than one char and only one week i did it for two because i changed class mid week and was already done. It wasn’t intended or a set goal.

If there would be no itemization and progression at all i wouldnt bother and still play because its fun combat and great atmosphere.
But because there is item progression i cannot ompletely ignore it, but the RNG is frustrating more often.

To be able to still have fun ignoring the RNG frustration i just play less so i’m good.
But every now and then you find something that reminds you of item progression and the game want you to suck into it again.
This is what i whithstand and makes me logging off rather earlier than later.

The itemization is indeed a serious detriment to the game. Makes you want to play less, not more. It’s… ugh… just designed in a really, really bad way.

What is also bad design (to me at least…) is that you don’t even have any indication on your HUD of whether or not one buff has been triggered…

Yet another VT2 quality of life feature missing from DT.
