Zealot rework ideas

  1. changes martyrdom by moving the augments to the main effect and add augments to prevent damage from bypassing your toughness or reduce the maximum required stack for maximum effect
  2. change the perks at the start of the tree to make useful perks and grenade choices more accessible
  3. change loner to something that improves dodges or stamina
overall i think zealot is in a good place so i don’t have more ideas but please include your ideas for changes in the comments
  4. change the perks before beacon of purity to grant bonuses to heavy attacks probably damage reduction and some kind of coherency buff like psykinetic’s aura
  5. change pious cutthroat to a perk that grants small cool down on dodge
  6. change martyrs purpose to cooldown on enemy stun
  7. improve the thunder hammer and the crusher so they are a bit more versatile and improve the recovery from the special attack on thunder hammer

Too heavy concentration of powerful talents in the top right of the tree (scourge, enduring faith, second wind) basically requiring you to take blades of faith, unless you want to waste a lot of points to take a different blitz. I don’t particularly like using blades of faith, but I feel tied to it in order to make the build work. Make the other blitzes more accessible, or the talents leading up to them more appealing. While you’re at it, both zealot grenades could use a buff in general as they feel kind of weak compared to blades of faith.

Too heavy overall focus on crit synergy to make the most powerful builds. Make talent tree changes that allow for strong non-crit builds.

I don’t really appreciate that you need to take banishing light after chorus as a tax talent. Is this really warranted? I don’t think chorus is that OP and I don’t think chorus users need to be punished with more talent tax. At least place it in the tree in a way that makes it optional.

Inexorable judgement could use a buff or rework, as it currently just doesn’t measure up to blazing piety and all the crit synergy BP allows for. I want to use IJ but need a good reason to. Make it worth giving up the crit chance and synergy of blazing piety.

I really like the idea of a support/healing aura like beacon of purity, but in practice this aura seems quite lackluster compared to benediction, except in very specific circumstances. I think it needs some kind of rework to make it worth using all the time, not just in niche situations.

Why take hammer of faith? What the hell even is impact strength really?

Right now the zealot tree and weapons seem to funnel you towards using the combat blade or dueling sword and basically using a crit and mobility build. I think the tree needs to remove some power from that particular build and redistribute it to other types of builds like ranged builds, heavy and slow melee builds, etc.

after thinking about it yeah the perks before beacon of purity are pretty weak and that’s a lot of why i don’t take beacon ever when playing a blight spreads mission where it would fulfill its niche.

I’d love to see a talent tree that allows for a strong support and heavy weapon build, just as good as a crit/mobility build. A crazed zealot wielding a huge hammer or eviscerator, who refuses to go down due to sheer madness and force of will, and who inspires or terrifies their squad to make them more effective.

The current talent tree gives you Naruto.

a coherency buff similar to psykenetics aura would be great like what if it granted dodge recovery to the team that would be awesome
