Most 40k alien races are only playable in either turn based or real time strategy games.
Would kill to have either a playable T’au or a playable Aeldari in Darktide

An Eldar might be something being set up already, with them possibly being in relation with Grendyl already.
T’au I would be very surprised to see in a Tide game outright, as they’re not really known for favouring melee combat. But a Kroot could be an interesting candidate.
For Eldar I could see FS do a full Eldar cast game instead.
ogryn be readin:
“purge the xenon, hunt the mutant, kill the heretic”
ogryn wants purge, can’t purge with no team damage, ogryn confused ![]()
Grutting hel! That’s impr…impress…impreh…good work lad!
Gredon now say fug the xenon, hug the mutie, and kiss da heretic.
kindred I see a fuggin machine.
I said fuggin machine not fuggin-machine ![]()
I see playable Xenos as possible, if a bit unlikely (Although that might just be me wanting playable AdMech first
). I can definitely see some Xenos NPCs joining the cast, as Rogue Traders can have Sanctioned Xenos in their retinue and some Inquisitors have done the same (And we will have some Xenos companions in the Dark Heresy CRPG).
As mentioned earlier in the thread they’ve set up Eldar plot threads already. Both in Mortis Trials memories and that one Vox (The one where the Wormwood agent said something like ”There won’t be any Eldar to swoop in and save us this time”). Eldar Corsairs are playable in Wrath & Glory, and tier 1 to boot.
The Leagues of Votann’s Kin would be more of a surprise as they haven’t set up any plot points for them as far as I remember. They do sometimes work as mercaneries for the Imperium though (The Ironhead Squat Prospectors of Necromunda are related to the Kin).
Tau? I can’t remember exactly where Atoma is on the Galactic map. And distance the biggest hurdle I see for playable Tau.
Kroot are known mercaneries and their warspheres do pop up all over the place. I think making their model and weaponry might take a while though.
I don’t see xenos compatible with tide games.
Humans fit better such games.
To have actual Xenos fight alongside human rejects, the writers would have to work overtime in order to give the adequate context, as to why the Zealots would not have immediately put an axe between their skulls the moment they see anything that isn’t remotely human (or abhuman) walking the Mourninstar or doing missions with them.
The Eldar have history with Grendyl and Zealots answer to him. Simple
Zealots also answered to the Imperium and the law before getting arrested for defying said law and said Imperium.
It being the Ordo Hereticus, the Eldar seemingly already having links to Grendyl
Cause they’re made to follow the Orders. Xenophobia isn’t as irrational as you’re making it seem.
Most likely the Zealot would be quite unhappy/antagonistic toward the Eldar, but if they have orders, they’ll keep to those orders.
Tell that to the Agitator who was arrested for going on a killing spree in a hab block that they personally thought to be drowning in heresy. Zealots don’t care about anyone’s authority save Emperor’s.
The imperium might occasionally cooperate with alien species against a common enemy (like Chaos, or Tyranids), but a Xenos in an Inquisitorial team is wildly implausible.
It seems much more likely and sensible to me that we’ll get to play something like an Adeptus Mechanicus character, a death-cult assassin, or another type of abhuman like ratling, nightsider, etc.
Zealot haven’t killed Psyker, when Penitent Crusade often target them.
It’s very much not a problem.
Not possible.
We arent Inquisitiors retinue or on world that is 'softly being taken over’ by the tau, and we both get attacked by orks or tryanids.
There is no lore possibility of having a alien as team member.
W40k eldar and Fantasy Elves are very much alike personality wise, but in fantasy they are a part of “order tide” and elf-human relationships can even be good on large scale (at least high elves, wood elves are a hard f-cking no)
Eldar x Human in 40k is only possible in EXTREME EDGE cases of Inquistion/Rogue Trader - and there only a selec high end operatives can be with them.
Something we are not
Many Ordo Xenos Inquisitors are quite open in their dealings with some alien races. Only the most Puritan Alien Hunter would consider it a great sin to make common cause with such species as the Eldar for example, and the annals of the Imperium contain many records of Human and Eldar forces fighting together against such foes as the Orks or Tyranids.
More divisive however is the use of alien mercenaries, such as the barbaric and flesh-devouring Kroot. Many Imperial Governors, faced with an immediate emergency, have turned to alien mercenaries for aid, knowing that a response from the Imperium might arrive too late. In such instances, it is not uncommon for an Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus to instigate hearings and trials, and to test soldiers exposed to the aliens for signs of corruption. In most instances, the matter may pass with relatively few consequences, but should the Inquisitor in question be of a particularly Puritan mindset, entire regiments might be purged and the planetary government deposed as punishment.
Taking matters still further, there are the Radical members of the Ordo Xenos. These might openly associate with all manner of aliens, some even going so far as to include them amongst their cadres. Depending on the nature of the alien in question, the response of fellow Inquisitors might be severe indeed.
In late 977.M41 for instance, one Inquisitor Forstav attended a conclave in the Tricorn Palace, attended by a bodyguard of three-dozen Kroot Mercenaries. The response from Forstav’s fellow Inquisitors when he entered the great hall flanked by his savage companions was mixed, but a sizeable number of Puritans denounced him on the spot. Bloodshed followed, and a number of the denouncers were slain. Unfortunately for Inquisitor Forstav, his Kroot bodyguards set to devouring the flesh of those they had slain, as is their species’ habit, a sight that proved too much for even the most liberal of Inquisitors attending the Conclave. Forstav was forced to fight his way out of the Tricorn Palace, a feat which, amazingly, he succeeded in, making it out, severely wounded, with a dozen of his bodyguard at his side. Inquisitor Forstav is thought to be at large somewhere in the Malfian Sub, and a number of Inquisitors present that day are said to be seeking him still.
Dark Heresy Ascension
Ravenor worked with the Eldar multiple times, there are some that have Kroots…
There are lore cases of it happening. Orks no, but Kroot and Eldar yes, hell even in the new Dark Heresy there will be a Kroot and an Eldar character working for the Inquisitor
They’re on a rogue trader ship, just like the game ‘Rogue Trader’ which actually has Eldar as a part of the squad (along with arbites). Grendyl also has ties with the approaching Eldar fleet who are not hostile towards them.
We are now Auric Operatives and Arbites
I do believe the story is now calling for that
A bit dated but… it is what you’re looking for ![]()
