You know, I’m tired of going from point A to point B. Can we get some new patterns? Like defense mode? A card game? And the Chaotic Wasteland mode in Vermin 2? “Dark Tide” has announced board games and cards. Why can’t we play it inside the Dark tide itself?
@FatsharkStrawHat wr need some information, thank you
They announce pretty much everything that’s added to the game (same for vermintide), so probably not.
Im doubtful that it will. In a perfect world, Fatshark would explain these things months ahead of time or tease a bunch of new content in the pipeline to keep hype and build interest. They said that they are working on a dev blog but those usually do not release until a week or two before an update drops. It really sucks how Fatshark deals with these things. I understand that they cant tell us every little detail, but at least a hint as to what is planned in the future, even without a release date would do a lot.
It would be disappointing if the “Secret of the Mechanical God” only had a few new weapons and a new map. Because the content of the last "Path of Salvation " update is also pitifully small. The Dark Tide cannot be saved without a new game mode
Its going to be a new sector/map.
Don’t think they’ll add a new mode for quite a while. Chaos Waste is a massive endeavour.
And DT won’t die
DT is half dead right now, that’s not good
Not more than last year. New sector and weapon is what we need.
Vt2 survived without new (good) mode for quite a while. And those are big endeavour so don’t expect those to be ready fast.
Chaos Waste is most likely already planned, heck, maybe even in the work already, but rushing and releasing it I’m a bad state would serve no one.
In many missions we have events where we have to hold a certain area for a given time - I don’t think we need to be any more defensive then this…
I have zero interest in this - and it would feel quite immersion breaking if our characters played games about themselves. And I think there would be an outcry if the devs wasted their time on such stuff.
I’m with @Heretical_Cactus - new maps and sectors are great. New weapons might be great if they get rid of the dreaded Casino crafting. What I’d actually really really love to see is a new enemy faction - Gene Stealer Cults for example.
Defense Mode is a new game mode focused on defense and cover evacuation, inspired by Cover Scientist Retreat in HD2. We could set up a story where the Astral Force fortress is under siege from heretics. The viPs and the soldiers inside need to be evacuated. The player strike team will cover the evacuation of the Astral Army soldiers before the fortress falls.
On the other hand, Casino map would be fun, could be part of Carnival though.
I think before we see a new faction the Dreg need to be developed further.
At the very least having a Lord (Preacher Sorcerer) with an attached assignment, Ogryn level elites (Plaguebearer and Plaguebearer variants), and the last missing Elite, Mauler.
Scab are mostly good faction wise, would like to see them have their own Thematic monster, Chaos Spawn is possibly one, but Sentinel would be a good pick.
As far as new factions go, I hope they don’t pick GSC, and continue on Chaos, by introducing local cults that represent local forces turned to chaos, Khornate Enforcer with press ganged criminals and civies, Tzeentchian Nomad with enthralled mutants and civies…
Why include board and card games? Many people find the rhythm of the Dark Tide too intense. In addition to the tense pace of killing all the time, players are easy to feel tired, so the addition of board games and card games can effectively relax the nerves of players
The board and card game aren’t made by FS.
Then maybe they shouldn’t buy the game ?
I’m not against lobby card game, but I don’t think either announced game would be suitable, Emperor Tarot would be the best thing to do. And ultimately its not a priority
Also an itemization update. Probably. If they don’t delay it.
It’ll bring a new map which will possibly have 3 different scenarios. That’s about all I’m willing to safely bet. I don’t think crafting will drop with this one though.
I’m honestly surprised they haven’t added a fortunes of war style survival map.
It’s more or less the same effort like a single map but provides far more replayability and something to chase (portrait frame/title) that can’t be cheesed as easily like auric storm surviver.
But Fatshark seems to be adverse to quick wins ¯_(ツ)_/¯
If the sector release with more than 1 map, I’d be surprised as its not mentioned. The sector will most likely be used multiple time.
But they haven’t said it would at its introduction
Fortune of War wasn’t really popular. Most people want something more from a survival/hold out mode. Being able to buy weapon during the rounds (à la KF, CoD Zombie) having procedural hordes instead of sets ones, having buildable or boon system…
What do you base that on? Pretty much all of the legend/cata players went for it and enjoyed the challenge from my experience. You could always find a lobby for it.
You also missed my point. I was talking about a quick win. As in not much effort required on fatshark’s side.
Everyone agrees that chaos wastes would be infinitely more fun. But again. I’m talking easy quick wins here.
But most only played it once. FoW, The Fall and ToF were not thing they did often cause people saw them as lacking in mechanics.
I’d prefer them to continue making normal maps and missions and release further in the game life span’s a good, high mechanic survival mode
