Why people hit the bells in Well of Dreams?

Why do people always hit the bells in Well of Dreams?

Everytime one or two members of the party will go straight for the bell.

Do players not know how this map works?

Or am I missing something?

I thought it was weird because the map has been out for a while now.

If there are rats I can kill there are rats I must kill

This is probably the answer.

Or I would think that many people don’t care to even try to be stealthy and so trigger the effect rather than try to sneak through.

We’re not playing Hitman or Thief or something like that after all. So there are probably lots of players who don’t care for stealth.

Is it really that hard to avoid the light? Takes barely any effort at all

No, you are right in that it isn’t hard at all.

But like I said, I think many players don’t care for stealth at all.

Annoying though because it can cause insta wipe not even 5 minutes in

I do hit the bells to have patrols spawning. If you dodge all 3 lighthouses events the map is just super empty and boring to play in base cata

Hmm I feel like if that is why everyone does it then it would be nice if the players asked first. Otherwise if someone is focused on completing a weekly for example it can be a bit annoying.

Yep well that’s too much to ask in a public lobby i think

The end event is to me much more of a problem if players do not communicate at all. Some folks just spam the turning page interaction and spawn 1 septillion enemies lol

For the same reason people go bananas and rush the patrol when you’re using Shade with Shimmer strike after you’ve told them you’re going to wipe it out.

Happens too much tbh, but tbf other players might not know shimmer strike is a thing. Siennas are worst for that as well idk why

That’s why I mentioned it happens after you tell them (this including how it works).

Just part of the chaotic joy that comes with the game (like the immense strength of will required to NOT jump a patrol when you’re using Slayer).

Why would you not hit the bells and YEET yourself into a patrol/gunner/gas as Slayer?

Slayers gotta Slay…

There’s something about those bells though, had one player repeatedly shout “The bells, THE BELLS!” in an exceptionally good Hunch back of Notre-Dame impersonation on a recent run.
