Why Fatshark needs to give us custom lobbies or I'm kicking every Psyker out of my Mourning Star Tavern

I consider it a risky investment.

I do not bemoan your aversion to risk, for the odds are you’re right. But for that perfect moment when you turn the wrong corner and 25 guns start shooting at you but out of the blue a dome appears… to me it’s all worth it.

Also I like it when they make heads explode.

Guys, it’s just a troll using Chat GPT.

This thread just seems like op trying to practice writing exercises for a high school english class rather than trying to have an actual conversation. Somebody will make a one-sentence response, and they’ll come back with a header, thesis (mostly exasperative descriptors), and signature. Why even engage?

Because its about time someone called out the freak and I’m tired of pretending its not.

Gotta pass the time somehow

These are the worse by far.
Most players don’t seem to realize that Monstrosities are triggered by advancing forward, and that when you have a horde / wave of specialist coming you want to wait for them in place and not charge blindly ahead to add a CS on top of all that, but the DaggerZealot are the absolute masters of this. By the time the rest of the team has jumped off the ship, the DZ is already halfway across the map, dead, having activated a horde and three Monstrosities.
Then they call you a noob and disconnect.

What? Like… what? There’s no FF, so a psyker “blowing up” isn’t that big of a deal. If there’s anything I’d like it would be to have the staff mechanics similar to plasma mechanics, i.e. light attacks cannot “blow up”. That’s it. Oh, and possibly (but this seems more like a technical server / connectivity issue) sometimes I’ve noticed that once I hit 100 peril I can easily quell… and at other times it seems the server gets stuck and doesn’t get the quell request and just starts the boom animation. But in general I rarely go up that high, so I’ll just shrug off, apologise and move on.

I don’t share some of your opinions, but it’s clear that you have maxed out your Speech Skill and for this reason I sincerely applaud you. I wish Fatshark would allow custom lobbies just to play with you and have our squad morale restored thanks to your passionate speeches.

Your argument fell on its face as soon as you seriously suggested that a group of people playing the same class have uniform qualities. These arguments usually involve men with funny mustaches, and tend to end badly for all involved (this part isn’t serious).

Psykers have always been the highest skill floor & ceiling class in Darktide (well, aside from right after the class overhaul with the OP Void & Assail and many bugs which luckily got fixed soon after). Gear rolls have nothing to do with it. It’s always been all about learning basics like dodging, sliding, positioning etc. with the many psyker-specific little tricks on top.

Still, we’ve always had a steady supply of threads like these. Considering psykers are exactly as weak or as strong as the skill of the people playing them - the strongest of all when played well -, the irony of people outing themselves with these threads has never been lost on me. There’s a particular extra brand of irony here however, considering psykers tend to be the most team-oriented of all classes with their abundant CC, support abilities, and leaving ammo & nades for others.

Oh well. Have fun with the thread!

FYI I put this guy’s replies through an AI written text detector and it comes up at around 80% or so.

In short, he’s trolling, and using AI to write these super long replies just to rile people up while putting in no effort.

This last month I’ve definitely blown myself up as a Psyker where as I never did at all before. I do think peril management has changed a bit or lag with the servers has increased. Being kicked though is fine as it would force the Pskyers to manage themselves better that’s all you need to do if a Psyker is constantly going down just vote kick them. I know after the first 3 games of the day Im back in full swing but it takes a bit of warm up for me. If a Psyker is constantly blowing themselves up just tell them to leave or swap to melee as at least they wont ahve to worry about peril then. I also suggest you pick up the talent that reduces your peril on an elite kill as that can help a lot when your team gets over run. Still tho if you want to just never have another psyker again just keep playing the game as our class is slowly dying out anyways and almost all the new players dont want to even try them anymore. Hopefully Fatshark can figure out a way to help with peril a bit more

The verbose vagabond verging on vitriolic vehemence has vexed me most viciously with his vociferous voluminous verbiage; verily I beg of thee dear viewers, spare naught a second thought for this trickster’s tired tirade for it bears the telltale trappings of a troll.

I want my read time back from this post…

That’s why I replyed with the shortest answer possible.

Nothing even an AI can say to that.

That’s why the cadence sounded familiar, the responses are pretty much this:
