I think psyker needs a bit of a buff. and about private matches and bots

this isn’t to say that psykers are bad, not at all, actually, i really like them a ton, i just think that they need more knockback and radius on their shout and that the starter shout should quell 20 and not 10. this is mostly because of the cliffhanger penance, but also because the starter stuff just feels WAY too underpowered, also, i think that there should be a force sword that basically just sends out a wave when you charge and swing it.

alright now for the potatos after the meat, private matches shouldn’t be just for when you have a friend with you and you wanna play without randoms, that [REDACTED] is more annoying than anything because not all of my friend have darktide and most of my friends who DO don’t usually play at the same times as me. so why not just let us get into private matches SOLO already? i feel like we should also be able to disable the bots as well, meaning that we should be able to play completely solo if we so desire, no bots and only the one player so that we can challenge ourselves and go through the missions without needing to worry about bots getting in the way of our shots.

okay, now for the icecream after the steak and potato dinner we just had.

i think that we should be able to customize the bots, it’d be fairly easy to do, i’m sure of it, just make it so that player 1 has their bot strike team being put to use while players 2 and 3 have to deal with it. the bots have plenty of weapons to choose from so i think that we’d have plenty of variety for the bots, there are also the classes and the talent trees which i feel like should be somewhat restricted so that it isn’t nothing but ogryns with heavy stubbers or psykers with the flying shards. the way i would have the bot customization is as follows: armory exchange → bot customization → menu with options of class, gun, and melee, class menu has the class selection, the way the operative looks, and the talent tree, gun has all the guns, melee has all the melee. there would be restrictions on the way that the bots look, the weapons, and the trees, but, thats how i would do things.

okay so i decided to clearify what i meant when i said all that psyker stuff, i just feel like the psyker starting ability should clear 10% more peril and should also push enemies back further and in a slightly bigger radius, not too much more just a small bit more. i also feel like the upgraded version of the starting ability for the psyker should push enemies back a bit more than it does now and thats it. i don’t want the psyker to get a new wife with the BFG-9000 or a giant mech that has unlimited health and lasts forever or anything like that, i just want the starting ability to have a better push back and 10 more peril clear while its upgraded counterpart has what it has now only with more push back than it currently has, nothing more, nothing less.

This is some kind of stream of consciousness, not a formal proposal about the game.

The game needs to give us the option to play solo, and take any other characters we have as bots. Having just watched my knife-zealot ‘teammate’ make no attempt to get a hound off me and just carry on running forwards, it’d be a nice option to have.

i agree to an extant, i think it should allow us to give class drip to our bot teammates but not take our actual characters into the squad as teammates

On topic of OP’s thread:

  1. Yes, solo mode should come, ideally with the option to exclude bots. I don’t understand why a group is needed to start up a private game.
  2. Psyker is strong as hell, I don’t agree that it needs a general class buff. I do agree that the class feels weak while it’s leveling though - This is because it’s probably the class that’s most reliant on talents to show it’s stuff.

sorry for not reading your wall of text but to me psyker is the strongest class at the moment, in ranged, with guns, in melee and survivability

great crowdcontrol + elite damage with surge

great generalist and wave clear with purgatus, voidstrike and illisi force sword

leagues stronger than veteran with IAGs and mk4 saber and has mobility on top of that if you go right path

has the least amount of blue talents nodes so it can take everything and regen thougness doing anything (gaining peril, loosing peril and with CRITS)

and if you go shield dome you have literally 0 weaknesses

As others has said; Psyker is currently the strongest class in the game and needs no buffs, but what Psyker needs desperately is new staffs.

Cant agree. In terms of “solve all problems alone” Zealot is much more convincing.

Psyker strong, but compare with “class that have node that prevents death and heals him”…

Well lets go through butter:

  1. Psyker can do dmg, but with force rods its not burst dmg (i mean guns can do better in terms of high dmg in seconds). Yes psyker with gun can do MASSIVE dmg, but rely on ammo.

  2. Psyker can live, almost infinitely. Tank daemonhost? Run from horde? Yes, but zealot can do this better. Faster, longer. Even when crusher do overhead zealot can survive without going anywhere.

  3. Psyker can provide support. Yes its good, shield is top tier, but i play only maelstorms and u know what? I dont see support psykers. At all. Why? Because i see mainly zealots with knifes and invisibility. And some veterans with revolvers.

I love psyker, and main my scryer psyker. But truth is that zealots just better.

i used to think Zealot was unstoppable back when he would heal for full with holy revenant, but when i played it in recent times it was a bit underwhelming, you get hit by overheads more often if you melee a lot, gun psyker superior mobility make it so that even when he melees he is in much less danger of getting hit

my melee psyker with illisi always ouperform any zealot by just deleting everything in its path, leagues better than veteran power sword (even with a power sword with sunder you still can’t go trough what you can go trough an illisi special attack)

but i havn’t really seen zealots that would stand out as much as psykers, i see many good zealots that just do their things but unless they go shroudfield they are pretty useless when it comes to solve a situation

but i play zealot with thammer so maybe knife zealots could illuminate me on the matter, or whatever the meta is

i made this talent build on a rush, i ddin’t had one prepared, i surely wouldn’t go psionics since i was only meant to melee, so bliz, ranged weapon, and keystone didn’t matter much

ye you shouldn’t be, nothing extraordinary, 700k melee damage is expected when you only melee or only ranged, my point was that it works, it works better than melee vet with power sword as much as i’m concerned, that’s all
