What the latest patch tells us about the design philosophy of Darktide, and why it's sh*t

Don’t forget the daemon host not counting for anything even if you manage to defeat its dps check and kill it before it kills your teammates. You’d think that would be a no brainer to include a bonus reward of some sort for seeking it out and killing it. However right now all it does is just serve as an object your group should detour around when you encounter it.

Like others I’m gonna give this game a rest as the end game isn’t compelling enough and my crash to desktop situations still are not resolved.

Thats what my group did too. Different people quitting for different reasons. For some it was this loot system but for us it was a lack of scoreboard.

Ah Deep Rock Galatic, a game where the devs care about their community unlike FS and actually has reasonable updates in release times and balance

No, lol. They were always like this. I can still read my beta forum posts from VT2.
They absolutely did not care the slightest if it wasnt a major game breaking bug and even then, Shadow Hits, Silent specials and broken AI director were patched back in every second patch because they couldnt even copy their code properly or something.

Considering I had maps with up to 5 demon hosts on Malice Lights out raids when I leveled my Psyker (~ level 20), that would end badly in loot pinatas. Could be fixed, could be a good reason to kill the host, though. I like it actually, same with Lights out missions, requires actual team cohesion and the host challenges the guy he is attached to, to properly block dodge.
But in the end the boss isnt hard, it would just make shield ogryns mandatory for farm groups.

People en masse should just drop a negative review and uninstall the game at this point.
Maybe Darktide will be good eventually but that looks to be several months away, at the minimum.
