Well, recently Hive Scum was announced with a fancy Bazooka but I honestly wonder, why Veteran don’t get Autocannon, Volley Gun (like Scab Gunner) or some Heavy Stubber (like Dreg Gunner), you know, like the official artwork of his own talents tree? ![]()
By the emperor that bazooka looks awful…
Smite flashbacks.
Can we get a veteran frag/krak nade showcase videos to compare with this bazooka?
Compared to the ogryn nuke :
And to veteran nades :
IS it just me or does the bazooka look far worse VFX/oomph wise then the nades?
Or hotshot lasgun.
Don’t know about Warhammer bazookas, but rmajority of the real ones don’t exist to kill infantry, instead they are made to create very directional and concentrated explosions to destroy armored transport, tanks, all kinds of reinforced covers, so i don’t know why you expect ogryn nuke size of explosion.
Then compare it to the krak nade. Its not just about the size of the explosion but how it feels.
The krak has that oomph that you can feel even without the sound. Meanwhile the bazooka just looks… bleh
I donno, maybe its the after explosion effect that makes it look bad in my eyes. When i compare it frame by frame the bazooka looks ok, but when i play it normally it just looks more like a napalm bomb or smth rather then a proper explosive.
Yeah everything about this dlc not just the trailer is looking half assed
Like this is such a significant step down to their usual level of quality of presentation they’ve had.
This missile launcher (boom bringer) is supposed to be a high damage single target weapon, likely for monstrosities. Its going to have longer range and accuracy than the other blitzes, but come at a cost of quanitity
Its reminds me of that infamus TF2 “shitpost” IT GOT EIGHT SECOUND BLEED - BUFFED
I don’t know but there is something comical about that bazooka shot combined with dual wielding colts performed by punk character. Fortnite-ish.
Also the fact that it’s called the
‘Boom bringer’
yeah the fireball just kind of pops up and lingers for too long and the recoil animations for the guns are extremely rigid. not really selling me here.
however on the subject of vet ranged weapons I pitch this
Longer ranged crowd control similar to grenade gauntlet.
Lots of epic Weapons still missing from the Game three years after launch
I think Vet doesn’t get the Heavy Stubber / Hellgun or whatever because the ammo/energy backpack thing would conflict with the cosmetic backpacks or whole design of it probably require some changes to cosmetics, to much effort
There’s Autocannons, Heavy Stubbers, Hellguns and Volley Guns working without backpacks, so isn’t really a good excuse.
Yeah I’m actually kinda impressed by how sad that bazooka is.
Guess we know how they got this one out so quick: quarter-assing it.
Notice the Bazooka gets thrown away. I think it’ll just be a fancy grenade that flies straight. Don’t think it’s mechanically any different from an Arbites grenade otherwise. Would love to be proven wrong. It’s cool looking but you know, I’d like new mechanics.
As for vet weapons, I can only keep quoting the dev interview, where the Design Director himself said they will be focusing on new classes “until we can’t anymore and have to start looking at other ways to add content”.
This together with the fact that they stated Hive Scum took them roughly 5 months to do, I have a feeling that we aren’t going to get much new stuff other than new classes with their 5 or so weapons each, maybe an operation map, for some years.
Honestly, all of the existing classes are sorely lacking when it comes to new weapons, shared or unique. Psykers haven’t had a single new staff since launch, Zealot’s only got the single ranged unique in the Flamer and Ogryn’s arsenal is still threadbare compared to the other 4 - Hell even the Arbites could stand to have a new gun/melee or two added at this point.
It’s honestly really freaking lame that the only new weapons we’ve seen this year was the Falchion, a Relic Blade in all but name, and a new mark for the Boltgun/Bolt Pistol that hardly sees any use anymore.
This is also what really worries me. Don’t get me wrong, I like new classes. I’ve enjoyed Arbites thoroughly, Hive Scum looks enticing and I’m sure I’ll enjoy nearly any future classes they offer. But it’d be beyond scummy and crappy if Fatshark were to just blow off weapon additions for the original 4 (or any older class additions for that matter) in lieu of paid classes.
As reviled as the premium skin shop and it’s tactics are, it’s generally (begrudgingly) accepted that such things exist as they provide a revenue stream that FS can then use to add free content to the game - That’s pretty much par for the course for Live Services. So if FS were to significantly pull back or even flat-out stop with such free content updates in lieu of paid content updates like additional classes, then I’d have to seriously question the necessity of the FOMO-riddled skin shop. After all if the premium classes were the new primary revenue stream, then there shouldn’t be any reason for skins to be so costly or be locked behind a rotating storefront.
This was why I stopped buying Aquilas and have refused to buy the DLC classes. Pick a lane. Either content is free but cosmetics have to be paid for or content is paid for and cosmetics are earnable. I am not going to be content with them double dipping.
Fatshark is doomed to be money-grubbing though, and it’s almost impressive how quickly they turned their class pipeline into minimal effort garbage almost immediately after the first one sold like gangbusters.
We’re going to see a stream of pointlessly paywalled content now, because FS thinks they can get away with it. Mark my words.
