Weapon Balance Darktide

Go read the comments, I asked you a genuine question about the difficulty you played on, I didn’t know anything about you. You were the one who felt attacked and felt the need to post that video as a flex.

Let’s see…

Ogryn:
• Karsolas Mk II Delver’s Pickaxe.
• Krourk Mk IIa Heavy Stubber.

Psyker:
• Covenant Mk VIII Blaze Force Greatsword.
• Nomanus Mk VI Electrokinetic Force Staff.

Veteran:
• Cadia Mk XIIIg Assault Chainsword.
• Accatran Mk XII Recon Lasgun.

Zealot:
• Munitorum Mk X Relic Blade.
• Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun.

There seems to be a recent trend of Forum noobs making their shiny new accounts, dropping extremely bad takes and then accusing anyone who criticises them of being a “Malice Player” for some reason.

Is that the impression you get from reading this thread?
What are the specific points you disagree with?

Do you think the Darktide melee is better than Vermintide?
Why do you think most melee weapons rarely get used?

I made this account specifically for this post. So it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while now. I’ve never quite been able to put my finger on why Vermintide melee is more rewarding, but I’ve put a lot of hours into both games, and I do think it’s due to the mild differences in weapon reach, charge time and attack patterns. There could be more to it as well, but I’m not sure.
The Catachan sword as an example - it could be more playable if the charge time was reduced. The player holds the sword for an unnecessary amount of time before striking, which takes the impetuous out of the weapon. When I say that Darktide melee feels slow and sluggish, this is the sort of thing that I’m referring to.

The DS bots very active on YouTube as well

You’re not actually calling me a bot right?

The term refers to people who call players malice level for saying the ds4 is op and not hard to use. Very common from certain creator’s fanbases.

Which creators I’m curious

Most busted weapon in the game is apparently one of two “viable” melee weapons for the melee class.

I am in great pain.

We’ve talked about this at length. You guys have a hangup about the DS. That’s fine. The rest of my point still stands.

Couldnt pass that brilliant comment, I played yesterday for the whole day since beginning of the Feb and, yes, in every lobby DS but I didnt see those “walking simulator” (except parties with smite, where 95-99% psykers population are smykers). People see whining on ds from every corner and monkey’s brain do it work - they pick it with zero idea that to do. Thats how DS flooded the whole game, the more you cry about it, the more information field it takes. Video like DS was op on psyker just lmao, majority people cant maintain over 10 DD stacks and would use Gaze at the 70 peril for 2sec effect. Btw I like how we compare PVP cyber-sport game with PVE cooperative shooter and call Havoc is endgame which is just another game mode with artifical difficulty.

I’ve edited my original comment, so people don’t get derailed by whether they like the Dueling Sword or not.

It is so busted in fact that I, just now, out damaged a player who is significantly more skilled than me by 200k with it lmao

No one gets to a hundred replies without a red hot take and a commitment to arguing with everyone.

That I do agree with. I dont enjoy the Dagger in DT the way I enjoy the DD in VT2.
Still, it doesnt need a buff to speed or reach and the mobility is top tier. It can also wipe bosses, crushers, maulers etc.

Have you looked on youtube to see how other people use it?
I get youre not keen on the moveset, but I still think you just need to git gud with it :winking_face_with_tongue:

There is a fundamental problem that character is allowed to oneshot elites and have high mobility while it also can have a decent HP/toughness pool and other ways to mitigate damage like cheat death talent.

And it also doesn’t ask anything special, like backstabing, prebuffing, attacks from stealth, etc.

It’s an agility archetype weapon that was given to a berzerker kinda class and it just scales cause there is no stats restrictions or any tradeoff.

Kinda the same thing with vet, jut to a lesser degree.

With the same result you can give purgatus staff to ogryn and have tough psyker without perril mechanic.

People got derailed by their hangup over the Dueling Sword. What I’m talking about is another subject.

I’m not here give a red hot take, the reason I created this account was to talk about this.
I’m also making an effort to not argue with people, I’m trying to keep the conversation focused on the original topic.
I didn’t take the time to word things in exactly the right way, and there are some people who willfully misunderstood what I was saying. My original post has a decent amount of likes which tells me that most people understood what I meant, it’s only a select few that came in with the intention to argue.

Okay, I’m here to talk about the weapons. If you have an issue with the Zealot, that’s fine, you should start a thread for it if you haven’t already.
