Weapon and Equipment Properties could use a revision

I am not taking features away. The game still plays the same. But I am taking power away. That is right, because in the last two years the game has become easier for a myriad of reasons. For a PvE game you always have to consider balance versus each other and versus the enemies. And the enemies didnt get any upgrade while the heroes got more powerful equipment and old equipment/talents etc. also got upgraded. This is not healthy. You can’t just buff all the time. It doesn’t function. And none of the things I usually suggest is a harsh nerf, just some adjustments. If you take the DR versus health discussion, you can still achieve the same if not better results as in the current situation. However, you have to give up on something somewhere else which makes it more interesting.

The power balance wouldn’t change either. If somebody comes back their favourite build is still there and does most of the stuff he is used too. He doesn’t need to rething or relearn something. He just can yolo anymore.

I am all for more options which is exactly what I am aiming for. But you can’t orientate those new options on the upper spectrum of already available stuff. Which is exactly why the upper spectrum has to be toned down or to be removed. Unless you want the game to become even easier.

But I guess it is best to simply disagree?

As said before, changing it from racial to monster type could be a solution. I understand the argument of something becoming completely useless if you get specific maps. Although we already have it in the game with Power vs Chaos and Into the Nest, just to give an example. Of course no reason to amplify on that. I just want to get rid of the generalist things (in properties, traits, talents and weapons) and give heroes some slightly more open flanks so they rely more on their team.

You can always supplement some bcr to your weapon if you feel like you need it and while I understand that 60% breakpoint is pretty nice, its not something that I’ve personally at least have used in a very long time. So I guess I just value the extra dodge distance way more highly.

Fair. I definitely feel I notice the differences between 60% BCR, 30% BCR and 0% BCR going between campaign and chaos wastes though, but it’s very team dependent - if nobody goes down and the team is good with positioning it comes into play a lot less. For QP I feel a lot of downs happen around picking teammates up (if lacking sufficient BCR).
