We keep asking fore it but please fix trappers

Trappers shooting through objects impenetrable to BB or any shot has been begged for a fix, but now it’s needed ten fold for rolling steel. They’re capable of shooting point blank through the obstacles like barrel stacks and engine parts. Please fix them already.

Still an issue with trappers shooting through hordes, crushers, bulwarks, and reapers.

Here is an image of a trapper shooting through a Mutant.

Trappers would pose 0 threat without the ability to shoot through hitmass, and we don’t want that, now do we?

Or is that exactly what you are campaigning for?

No. I understand them shooting through hordes, that’s not my issue. Mine is they’re shooting point blank through the map! Barrels and fences and rigs which block our shots and even block brain burst etc, some that act as invisible walls and some obstacles- when they’re shooting through these and netting a player, or having their nets right angle to catch you around a corner, not only is it janky but it screws the animation. Through enemies, that’s part of the horde, but through clear obstacles is just crap and defunks the idea of cover and dodge.

At first I wanted to state my content and contempt of Trappers, how i have become complacent of their existence and mechanics, yet I also am sympathizing with you that they have way OP mechanics with shooting through hordes and such.

Even when I am on a 50/50 ratio of them capturing me, teammates (especially pub players) nearly disregard un-trapping just as much as ignore when a Pox Hound turns a player into a chew toy for over 95% of their HP.

I feel like trappers need a small rework, yet at same time, there is player agency as well as teamwork that needs to step up against disablers.

I say this as myself require to be responsible for accountability of avoiding disablers, yet at same time, both teamwork agency as well as re-working disablers 'perma-lock" on players has become a serious bane of defeat

Two of the most annoying things in Darktide is not being able to have a “mini-game” to undo disablers, as well as being stuck on a ledge/rail (where it depends upon a teammate(s) ability to undo this issue)

Maybe being trapped should lower your aggro so that enemies ignore you. Then you’re still disabled, but it’s not an instant death sentence!

I have actually noticed that other mobs tend to not care much for a player being dogged.
As for nets: eh.
Them cleaving hordes is probably fine, because it keeps their script (AI) simple and performant.
Though I am frequently annoyed by them when playing Ogryn, as they tend to still manage to net my thick abs even when from my point of view they are behind a wall.
Or shoot a net out of a spawn door the moment it opens, like the bursters of old just exploding out of nowhere.
Then again, bursters are a lot less dangerous than flamers these days.

An example0 I managed a quick screen shot amid the chaos as somebody was getting me out of a trap. The arrow is where a trap was shot through like that whole piece of scenery didn’t exist. The only visibly clear path to where I am is where the 2 lines mark the right, behind me is a wall. Most will be familiar with this place in our last new map. I got the audio warning for the trapper this time, but expected him to run into line of sight and instead he ran from the gate on the opposite side of the obstacle and shot clean through it. This is the kind of thing I’m on about, not like my bullets could penetrate that metal.
