I don’t understand why Fatshark decided to buff barrage.
Outside of some really bad talents Ogryn does not need a buff.
Most of his weapons are pretty mid and need a buff tho.
I’d personally love PBB to be nerfed/reworked to be an utility and ammo saving skill and Ripperguns, TLHS and HS to be buffed. Kickback is ok, but has probably the worst blessing pool in the game. Cleavers are bad outside of that one bugged blessing, clubs (except for MK3 unga bunga) and shovels are pretty pointless, only hard-carried by some good blessings.
Ogryn also needs more new weapons and weapon marks, like Autocannon, club + brute shield with parry special, two-handed hammer or axe, Las-cutter, fist weapon of some sort, etc…
Which buff are you talking about specifically?
Buff shovels
Buff a few blue nodes
Make charge not stop on Pink enemies (or better yet remove the stagger resistance bonus for pink enemies)
NERF RUMBLER!!!
The rumbler isn’t what makes the rumbler strong though, it’s the skill tree when choosing a ranged build. The rumbler without right side of the tree is actually pretty damn basic. So it’s the tree nodes that need adjusting.
I rarely see a rumbler PBB ogryn anyway though. Seem very rare in my experience.
Absolutely agree to buff the shovels. I’d love to use a shovel again but they feel so pool-noodley right now.
Do you mean did deserve or does deserve? You mention fatshark shouldn’t have buffed him, is there a specific patch change you didn’t like?
Barrage yes, other stuff? Not really, they can buff some weaponry cleavers, shovels, reaper guns which are horrible even with barrage.
I don’t care about foldable shovels, those simply shouldn’t exist. The OG shovel is one of my fav weapon on the big guy. It is fairly competitive, even if clearly not pickaxe tier.
I would be careful with buffs tho, and if anything start with making it feel more mobile / maybe more responsive, it is a 1 handed weapon after all. At the moment its mobility / defence stats feel worse / comperable to pickaxes. If I pick the OG shovel I should feel I’m sacrificing pickaxe damage for something of value: attack / action speed, stamina cost and mobility, and that is missing, just look at those stamina / push costs between those two below. Why does sprinting and pushes are more expensive than on a pickaxe? What about dodges? I’m not saying this should be cleaver class mobility and responsiveness…but this seems to be another Fatshark’s blind spot.
Karsolas:
From my experience, any Rumbler range / hybrid builds suggest a player who really s…in melee, which a massive red flag as Ogryn is extremely safe in that department, with maybe exception of silent / “surprise” disablers.
Rumbler Ogryns hiding behind vets and psykers, and spamming Rumbler while thinking they are “doing their part”, are almost as funny as Smikers.
Rephrase your title or the body as you are using two different tenses here which confuses people. Which buffs do you mean? Past buffs or any new, future buffs?
Yeah I don’t much understand a ranged oggy…it seems a bit of an oxymoron lol.
That said, I do still carry a rumbler with my melee oggy - merely for the fact it can disrupt things in the distance to allow a second or 2 to position. It’s the best option even if it barely kills a thing except a reaper on direct hit. It doesn’t even kill normal gunners lol. It definitely needs PBB skills to actually kill stuff. As a disrupter it’s useful though.
Shovel can stunlock monsters it’s not bad
Ogy is in a fine spot overall
If you ask me, Ogryn is grossly overtuned in his tankiness and would honestly need a nerf. But I am also of the opinion that everyone needs a good dose of nerfing to bring the intensity of the game down a lot. All to serve a single purpose: To meaningfully reduce enemy spam.
Voted no, but then I actually want to know what this thread is about?
Like is this a response to something specific like a Youtube listicle whining about Ogryn being the worst thing ever in the game or…?
Cuz that doesn’t mean I’m okay with the state of his weapons
I would like to believe the devs listen to criticism (at their own pace) and they would dial back the power and enemy density but time will tell
I play taunt shield heavy hitter from time to time and rumbler is still an issue even without using talents towards it
Eh? How is it an issue? Its a single shot, slow reload, volley weapon that kills barely anything and merely disrupts with a pretty tame AOE.
Without ranged skills it is purely for disrupting. On high difficulties anyway
Charge doesn’t stop on pink enemies though?
Literally the only thing charge stops on is monstrosities, and it full staggers everything it hits, regardless of any stagger resistance or immunity they may or may not have. (This is why you can charge a ritual dhost and stagger it awake at 20% hp or whatever)
Yes and no. Rumbler itself is pretty strong even with zero buffs at all; it’s got more than enough radius and stagger to turn off entire rooms for extended periods.
It just runs out of ammo relatively quickly without BLO and/or PBB ammo gen and doesn’t do that much actual damage without the burn stacks from PBB.
Point Blank Barrage is the strongest ability in the entire game man… PBB Ogryn does Inferno Psyker levels of damage and, being Ogryn, is stupidly tanky. And that’s with terrible guns!
If anything PBB needs a severe nerf so the guns can be buffed to be halfway decent without it.
The only factor of the rumbler that balances it is it’s ammo economy it’s is easy to spam and kill the whole map as long as you can keep getting ammo
And where do you keep getting the ammo unless you have chosen the right side of the tree? I am a melee build so I don’t choose any ranged skills. My ammo count is terrible.
Only in a corridor. By the time you’ve reloaded, the enemies you knocked over will have recovered, so you decide to knock them back over or you choose different enemies. You certainly can’t disable a whole room.
