Patch 15 did actually break surge staff with the parts targeting change, that from the wording of their patch, seems to be cosmetic only, but in reality applied limb damage modifiers at random. Like it can work, but it’s become unreliable.
So kinda what happened with Exhilarating Takedown. At least Catfish mentioned that both have upcoming fixes.
Blockquote But if you lean hard into plasma and damage dealing you’re the biggest glass cannon. Psyker is far tougher with almost any of their builds in my experience.
i don’t think you watched the video i posted because i clearly demonstrated how tank the build is. and proved just how good of damage it is while being good for solo.
Blockquote i mean what is this, are you new to the game?
if you actually watched the video instead of clicking through, you would have found out i have 450 hours in darktide.
I play all 4 classes and have multiple 550 weapons on characters. I spend alot, so i use alot. That goes for refining and reblessing. Because i like to test lots of stuff.
I usually wait a few days to add mods back in like scoreboard on the basis of a hotfix or something else coming along and then having to reupdate a few mods.
You can build Ogryn the same way you described. It’s not optimal to go full in, but you can easily get ~180-220 toughness with triple Toughness curio and you’ll have way more TDR because of the 10% TDR nodes and the built-in invisible Tough Skin giving you both health and TDR.
This all while having double the health pool (and even more eHP) and 3 wounds. You can even go for middle Keystone to be even more indestructible.
Blockquote Says “veteran isnt bad” while using the voice of command build…
Try going with the marksman/volley fire build, see how long you’ll survive then.
bet i’ll record and upload later tonight just for you. Challenge accepted.
Nothing to say about your arguments, but I really wish everyone who posted scoreboards to make points had (one of?) the plugin(s?) that break down ranged/melee lesser kills.
Ngl recoil or further long range scaling dmg nerfs to autoguns is the way you get me to hop off the fence, and onto the butthurt veteran side of the argument. Especially if there are no changes to the point economy on top of it.
If they wanted to be classy they would edit hitboxes to have throat shots count as headshots, make weakspot hits more reliably stagger or remove non-stagger flinching with low power firearms and lasguns, and increase weakspot hit bonuses for low firerate precision weapons. But only tuning numbers is easier, sooo. . . I’mma jut start prepping a whinge manifesto for the next patch.
It doesn’t matter if its relatively “worse” because you have to actively manage it. There are actually a number of active management elements to Inexorable, like the toughness generation one when fighting particular enemies. The simple fact is Weapon Specialist is strong and a huge benefit to the veteran’s kit in an objective sense. I like using it, I enjoy the way it plays, and it is objectively powerful regardless of its active or passive management.
Everything about Vet that sucks is centered on his complete lack of survivability unless using VoC or Stealth to reverse bad situations. Executioner’s Stance is a squish machine. The other two are active survival tools that can get you killed if bad things happen while on cooldown. If vet had two more points on his tree and survivability he would be fine. I can understand wanting less active management on his keystones, I get it. But they aren’t bad. That’s my point.
I agree with everything you have to say reginald. I actually just finished recording a video for the marksman/volley combo guy above complaining.
I think the talent tree is very long with no real maneuveriability/flexibility in it’s kid. Was talking with a warden from the discord about it for some time. I think the veteran skill tree just needs a bit more choices in it’s build variety. I use to be able to run a stealth sniper actively using the smoke grenades and managing ammo with the crit las build+ammo regen, however the update thoroughly killed that build. I’m sure there’s some sort of new one, but it won’t be the same, and that’s okay with me. I do think the smoke grenades are underrated and not chosen enough. the amount of control they give is insane.
Only the Columnus has a decent recoil pattern, the Graia and Agrip are still pretty much disguised HH autos you need to burst fire manually. Recoil nerf that one…
You can run IJ without the toughness node and have 0 management and it’s still on par or better as a Keystone, while requiring basically no management and never fully dropping off.
Compared to what? Skirimisher node? Other Keystones? Something like Strength can only be measured in relation to something else.
That we agree on. Still, currently, Vet does suck, and it sucks a lot in comparison to any other class.
I honestly feel like infiltrate is kind of a worse Voice of Command tbh. In both aggressiveness and defensiveness.
Voice of Command give buff to the whole team and stop enemy snowball in track. It literally can turn the tide in just one button press. You can’t stop impending doom of Crusher’s rebar with Infiltrate but you can do it with VoC.
Infiltrate might have better survivalbility for the user because of well, invisibility, but all that aggro will be dump into your teamate instead which is why you might have to clutch more with it.
it’s also not as aggressive as something like Zealot Shroudfield where you can just use it willy nilly because of low cooldown and it offer huge backstab boost and guarantee crit so you have incentive to stay off stealth more, it also can clutch save just like Infiltrate.
It require handful of subnodes to make it somewhat good too… while VoC only need 1 for one of the best ability modifier in the game. Why, obesse fish.
For balance! And flavor! Infiltrate has lots of utility, and I’ve settled into only using Low Profile with Tactical Aweness. 2x is very useful, and I was worried I’d miss it, but with the point crunch it’s just not worth it.
Im not too hot on voice, honestly. But I like Infiltrate with all of the keystones. Different strokes, but the flexibility of using Infiltrate to rez or reposition or get behind enemy lines or drop aggro or do an objective is just tooooo good.
