Useful comm wheel

So after thousands of hours of playing I regularly find myself wanting some actually useful commands on the command wheel.

Absolutely no one on god’s green earth uses “enemy over there" when you can just click on an enemy to highlight the actual enemy.

I think the only ones I ever use are:

"Need ammo”

“Need healing"

"Cheer”

The ones I wish we had are:

"Cover me!”

“Need a grenade!"

"Pull back!” or "retreat”

“Focus on objective"

"Going afk brb”

If there were some in options we could hot swap for missions then that would be great but really the default ones need updating imo.

And I don’t care if there is a mod for this. I don’t use mods so spare your breath. How about we improve the game for everyone and not just modders.

Any suggestions for actual useful wheel options?

“Sorry!” would be a big one for me.

Let’s say you accidentally kill someone else with a barrel, and you don’t have the breathing room to actually type out an apology. Having a way to quickly apologise for temporarily taking them out of the Mission would be nice.

The ability to choose what “cheer” you want would be great. I love Loner female’s dry sarcasm, but it seems >75% of the time when I cheer she just says “I will survive”. It’s akin to hearing nails on chalkboard after the 5th time hearing it in the same mission and ironically sh*t usually hits the fan after she says it so… -_-

Maybe she’s being sarcastic in saying that, but her tone suggests otherwise…

More cheer variants would also be great, though unlikely.

These would also be great.

The current wheel is awful, 3 ways to do the same thing (eye icon, mark and enemy icon).

“Regroup”, “Monstrosity ahead!”, “Help!”, “Grenades/ammo/stimm here!”.

“Focus on objective” is great when you play with 3 players who ignore doing the demon vines on the missions with corruption. “Cover me” is great for servo skull puzzles.

“Go back for respawn!” for Havoc so people fall back to get closer respawns.

There was this mod? I am sure there might be newer ones that have more features.

I don’t use mods.

I just want the vanilla build better for everyone

Would be ideal for sure. Lots of mods should be base.

I’d love a contextual “cover me at objective” on ping, since ppl don’t seem to hear the voice lines saying they should cover person doing puzzle/scans.

Hey, that’s OUR things as Canucks, stick to your lane with the f’ing kangaroos.

P.S. I ugly-laughed long and hard at the f-in roo vid you linked (see my link to it), it’s just so f-ing awesome.

Soary, eh.

The difference?

Australians are impolite but they don’t mean it. Canadians are polite and they mean it.

(Then you have Austrians and Germans. Austrians are polite but they don’t mean it. Germans are impolite and they mean it. It’s all connected, you know?)

It’s a classic.

LOL, looking at you @Index and @Pirx.

On a related note, we need a “plz stop lagging behind the rest of the group” comm wheel command.

well he’s right on the money, there aint no fake friendliness with strangers around here and whatever response you get is “honest”

then again so is friendship that’s truly earned and cultivated through decades, whereas I heard americans for example use the terms “friend” for an associate they knew for a couple days, which in turn is a wild concept here in germany

so whatever callouts “beweg deinen faulen scheiss newb arsch” one might hear on discord, well… move it

but then again it aint called german efficiency for nothing

A simple “Come here!” that you can direct at a specific Player would probably suffice. You could use it for that, you could use it to ask them to come closer so you’re able to Stimm them.

It’s strange to me as well, considering the English language actually has a dedicated word for somebody you know but wouldn’t call a true friend. They’re called acquaintances.

Australians tend to do it as well, although I’m an exception probably because my family aren’t part of the ethnic majority and never “assimilated” fully, if you understand my meaning. I was raised in an Italian immigrant family, where there’s a huge emphasis on the distinction between “amici” (true friends) and “conoscenti” (acquaintances) regarding the role that they occupy within your life.

A true friend is someone you love like family, not just anyone you know.

I think lack of a “Brothers” emote was a mistake in Space Marine 2 if Darktide could capitalize on some personal comrade emote all the better, it may have to variant based of character and/or closest ally.

Ogryn: Sah! , Lil Un, com com com.. comrades

Arbites: Sacntioned Abhuman, Parolee, Lex Mate

Psyker: Brotha / Sista, Sweet Brute, Normie

ect…

“group up” or “group together” or “stay close” could be a good catch-all.
