Untrusted system file "steamclient64.dll"

I get the following errors when trying to launch Vermintide 2.

“Fatal Error! The game will close! Vermintide 2. You need to have the steam client running to play the game”

"Easy Anti-Cheat Untrusted system file (D:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamclient64.dll)

I was playing earlier in the day with no issue, shut it down for dinner, logged back in and received those errors. Steam is indeed running and I have done no cheating for EAC to flag. I have done a virus scan, windows repair, verified game files but those have not worked.
