What we are currently seeing in the forum is the best example of what is wrong with part of this community.
NONE of us knows what is coming. A new game mode, is it part of the next class or a new shop? We don’t know.
But there are already several comments saying that FS will mess it up or divide the community.
Can’t we just wait and see? It doesn’t matter what we say or write about it until it’s released anyway.
Can’t we just be happy that something new is coming, like some others here?
And to preempt the discussion:
Yes, FS sometimes misjudges the players’ wishes, there are still many bugs, and balancing needs more attention. But still, we regularly sit in front of our screens and enjoy this unfinished, unpolished masterpiece.
Oxymorons just clang in my head the wrong way, regardless of the context.
I’m usually in the “wait and see” camp, but it’s hard to call a piece a masterpiece when it’s still being worked on, for good or for ill.
Rogier was gonna help us restore death to order, Melina would forgive us for taking the flame to save her if we use the needle in farum azula to seal Yelough and then bath in celestial dew to cleanse ourselves. Then goldmask would help us eliminate the influence of the outer gods.
If it’s a new gamemode then of course it will split the playerbase. Unless it’s the most perfect game mode and literally all players will stop playing the other modes.
But cynical as I have become, it’s probably another MTX shop run by another obnoxious character.
… actually its kind of the point of the community for speculations; its free and easy hype for Fatshark to put out a construction zone, release a heavy patch, have devs do some activity/posts without making it public for the Hype effect.

Um, what comes after that sentence is actually what it’s all about. Speculation is a great thing. At that moment, I was concerned with the negativity, not speculation.

Voicing concerns ahead of time is a great way help devs avoid pitfalls. They are working on it now, it’s a good time for input, for whatever social media and forum posts are worth.

An other game mode is an absolute awful idea. We already have Havoc that is destroying the normal difficulties, Mortis trial that is just arcade game mode… Sure, let’s split again the community and introduce again more problems.
Except a solo game mode, anything else would have its own problems. And no, I don’t expect Fatshark to release a solo game mode. They are just liars and just took money with false promises.
So, yes… I hope they won’t introduce again a new unneeded game more.
