Unchained rework of abandon?

Hi,

I was wondering if someone at fatshark was thinking about reworking that aspect of unchained.

Abandon right now because of blood magic is just a must have and not having it is a call for trouble so i was thinking it could be great to have it as a passive and not a talent since it’s so important.

Right now it’s so important that no one will take another talents on the 25 level, there no real choice and it will be great to have more options and if it goes as a passive there will be a slot for something new :wink:

Mandatory huh? Weird how so many of us played Unchained before it existed for so long then (and I imagine a good number still play without it). I’m a pretty big fan of both enfeebling flames and natural talent depending on build. If you don’t feel you need the added safety net abandon isn’t doing anything for you or your team anyway.

There’s already somewhat of a safety net built in in that no single instance of damage can overcharge you unless you’re already at critical overcharge. So you have to take consecutive damage ticks to blow up, and then you also need to not have your Ult ready to actually die from it.

I’m not arguing Abandon isn’t powerful, it certainly is, which is why you shouldn’t get it as passive then get to take another talent on top. That is way too much safety for no cost and strays too far from UC’s identity as a hybrid career that plays on the edge for max damage at the cost of personal risk.

You wanna take the extra safety net? Ok you pay a talent for it. That’s the deal.

I don’t know one player that don’t take it when playing cataclysm or any highter modded difficulty.

Trying to play her at high overcharge without it is just a call for trouble so we will not agree on that subject it seem.

The trade of life for have a chance to see the ulti return in time should be pair with blood magic imo.

The personnal risk is still there even with abandon so we for sure don’t have the same view.

As @alsozara already sad abandon is powerful but once you reached the point that you can predict incoming difficulty spikes and become good reading the flow of the game abandoned doesnt give you as much back as the other 2 talents. I for example play a lot with natural talent especially when i go with coruscation or fireball staff. Together with thermal equalizer it is pretty strong.

And thats where another problem of UC comes up:

Her blood magic works on:

  1. Gas
  2. Ratling
  3. Stormer
  4. Warpfire
    And Mainly - friendy fire

That means you take one hit, go critical, and then your BH\RV hits you with one pellet of shotgun - you are dead. And dont fofget about Hagbane WS. The most dangerous enemy of UC

Tourney balance fixed it, but all UC players still use abondon there.

BTW - i have never seen anyone on Cata or Dwons without Abandon. For 99.9999% of audience there is no choise.
We have not many talents already, and keeping those line choise only for few guys is kinda bad.

You can play without it only if you way way way above your diffciulty lvl.
