Where is the reward for this encounter ever shown? Why would anyone bang their heads against this overtuned content that is arguably more appropriate in an mmo raiding context than it is in a horde shooter?

All I see on the in-game UI is a box. What’s in the box? An extra weapon drop at completion? No thanks, not worth the bother.

You get an insignia. You can see it in the special operations screen. The secret version isn’t shown, becuase its secret.
