This patch in havoc is unfun

crazy to think about how long ago nurgles blessing was added to auric and how much better that is than most new modifiers that followed it. sad really

1 2 VEG felt like a sane way to scale difficulty IF the bosses that spawn correlate w/ the power creep. Havoc feels like an unhinged band-aid

Honestly, my biggest issue with Havoc is just the good old classic bugs and crashes. While I certainly have losses from getting killed, it feels like most of my losses are because something incredibly sus happens to kill a member of the team, then the game decides that is the moment to spawn Twins + Captain + two monsters on top of a horde. I had a death earlier where I used Arby charge to advance on some regular shooters, with my shield up, and just die to them hitting me through it - even though it’s supposed to block during charge and I had stamina. Or the shield glitch on a Captain kills that player who has managed to live for ten minutes with 1 HP, because screw their skill. Or one of a million other fringe bugs/oversights/mistakes. Like how many times have you been literally ping-ponged by captain shield bursts, dog pounces, and flamers so that you can’t do anything and then get netted or grabbed by a Mutant and them Flamered down or a Chaos Spawn smacks you down, with zero counterplay? Or a gunner spawns from behind and strips your toughness and 99% of your health in .2 second because you cannot see 360 degrees at all times. Even if you are vigilant and catch them on the regular, just takes one time and then it’s likely going to be a wipe!

The game seems determined to make sure you do not win, even if it comes down to the server itself crashing just as you get to the end.

Challenge? Yes, please. Just getting robbed, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again . . .

It really just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Also more and more modifiers that relegate ammo-based ranged to 2nd-class mechanics.

This havoc season where the update claimed that crusher have been reduced in size, get spawn on masse with rotten armor active.

that’s a rotten armor thing, in havoc you get constant hordes and during rotten armor event every mob wave has large numbers of scab armor spawn. every crusher spawn protocol did reduce numbers by 1/3, but increasing their health by 180% pretty much makes the same gameplay scenario as before. if anything its worse for bad armor damage weapons because dealing with 4 of these crushers is a very long fight for something like heavy sword or taxe compared to 6 pre-buff fatties.
