Locking enemy types behind specific game modes now? Just when I thought your decision making couldn’t get any more stupid, you go and put this “The Pack Master and his hounds will initially spawn exclusively in the new game mode Expeditions.” Bruh. So you’re telling me now we are going to be creating new enemy types that are locked behind specific game modes? What’s next, a map that can only be accessed in Havoc? GTFO.

I understand it says “initially” - SO basically, they have so little faith in their new game mode they actually force a new enemy type into the game mode so you’ll be more likely to try it. Wow.

me when I can’t read gud

Darktide players trying not to outrage farm, challenge: impossible.

To be fair . . . FS has a long history of making the most baffling, ill-conceived decisions I’ve ever seen - and then sticking to them far past the point anyone would expect - in a company that claims to want to exist and make profit. If the playerbase hadn’t insisted against the horrible changes that came with the Weaves update on VT2 that game would probably be dead now. I dunno if you were in on the beta tests, but the entire core melee game loop had been broken because they wanted to add in the stagger mechanics.

the standard maps might need some updates, like points where he can spawn etc.

Armored hounds are spawning in Auric atm, they’re like 1/6 chance of replacing a dog. I do want to fight the Packmaster more, he seems almost as rare as a wandering Spawn right now.

If they future-proofed their code well enough (yeah, yeah, I know), they can just add the packmaster to the boss spawn table. Though if they want to re-invent the wheel or their current boss selection and spawn code is spaghetti, well, I hope they learn something from it.

To be fair, it started already with modifiers being exclusively available for Havoc.

Kind of funny to think that if you went back to 2 years ago, quickplay standard missions had the exact same amount of modifiers and only like 2 missions less, one of which is a short mission that barely ever shows up. So you’d likely not even notice you went back 2 years, other than no arbites and hive scum.

I like new gamemodes if they’re fun (this one seems more like mortis trials 2) but damn way to neglect the base game.

And every week we had posts about people who were against different modes, Hunting Ground, Light Out…

And even for the non-general modes where they complained that they couldn’t quickplay and avoid them…

i think most people would not be against different modes if they could select what to play, or opt out of certain modifiers.

as it is, we have 1 maelstrom mission, it’s dark, you don’t like that. so you quickplay, replace a bot on its last bit of health in a hound game.

I saw one like that on Heresy, and at the same time I haven’t seen the newest boss

You aren’t missing much. It’s a less engaging fight than Plogryn if I’m honest.

And I can finally answer what happens if you sick your dog on him: he swats it away and it’s stunned for like 1 second. You can still remote det just fine.

Perhaps him debuting in this mode with so much going on lessened his impact since you barely notice the dogs in everything else happening .

i’d have loled if he prodded the dog with the cattle stick and it ran away yowling and licked or scratched itself for some time

I wish the armored dogs couldn’t be pushed
