This game could learn from Remnant 2 when it comes to gear

The gear in remnant 2 is amazing. It’s so exciting to see gear and think of builds. They don’t just stack puny buffs on top of each other. They have cursed items, situational items and certain slots are the big ones. Amulets are strong no matter what and rings are weaker. But an amulet with a curse is a game changer in trying to make a build out of it. Darktide is just all stacking weak things and the only stuff that is set apart from the pack are the blessings that are so overtuned they stand out.

They could learn from almost every other game. Aliens Fireteam Elite, Payday, Deep Rock Galactic.
Most of the systems they superficially lifted (especially map selection) could be improved just by looking a bit harder at the games that have implemented them better.

Not saying Remnant 2 isn’t great (it’s baller) or that Darktide RPG elements couldn’t be improved, I just find these genres way too different for direct comparison to make much sense to me. Making the RPG elements too impactful does reach a point that massively detracts from a focus on skill/teamwork.

I haven’t played in a while. I just don’t think darktide’s stuff to chase is even remotely interesting. There’s only so much of doing the same layouts with the same dialogue over and over.

There’s only so much detached slot machine rolling I could take.

Yeah I hate that too. Which is why I love Remnant 2 and how it does stuff for builds. Oh well.
