The Utter Ridiculousness of Havoc AI Directory (rant post)

April 2024, Path of Redemption: Disrupt Destiny and Scrier buff.
June 2024, Secrets of the Machine God: Obscurus, Deimos, and Perfect Timing buffs.
September 2024, Unlocked and Loaded: Purgatus got Blaze Away and Warp Unbound was added.
December 2024, Grim Protocols: Another Obscurus buff, Force Greatswords, Psyker base toughness buff. In a patch with basically no balance changes, Psyker got a ton of stuff relatively.
March 2025, Nightmares and Visions: Scrier gained venting so you can cancel self-explosion, another Disrupt Destiny buff, the absolutely obscene bug/buff that was the change to Perilous Combustion.

If you are going to play the victim card literally every time you speak to me, at least be factually correct.

Buddy. When was Havoc released? That’s right: December 2024.

The irony.

You characterize the subsequent increases in enemy densities, following the release of Havoc 1.0 as basically being a response to psyker also following this, “becoming the aoe monster”. And you’ve complained initially about this being a problem of infinite cleave, which supposedly is an issue with the inferno staff (usually combined with psychic shriek).

Now you give me a list of psyker getting various buffs to abilities (almost all predating the release of Havoc 1.0), and generally not affecting or being combined with the inferno staff and venting shriek/soulblaze builds, such as melee weapon additions, melee weapon buffs, disrupt destiny, and (here perhaps the only exception): scriers gaze getting a peril overload prevention talent.

That is laughably inept as a response. Sorry.

Shriek has been objectively worse than Scrier for quite a bit of time and Havoc 2.0 was released alongside the Ogryn rework so no one else could have been abusing infinite aoe except Psyker and Shredder Nade Vet (also Shredder Nade Psyker but I’m sure you are unaware). Of course a melee buff is relevant to Psyker when Uncanny and Greatsword wave are involved.

More importantly: all I did was mention was infinite aoe and you immediately thought I was talking about Psyker when Rumbler Ogryn is somehow even worse for the game. You decided to make more posts downplaying Psyker when that wasn’t even the conversation.

This is one of the many aspects why i don’t like Havoc.

But Havoc isn’t really designed to be focused on fun, or that’s the feeling i get every time I try to play Havoc.

It’s just not for me i guess.

I quite like how crazy Havoc can look, but I do think the director needs a little more finesse. Giving out heaps of bosses would probably be okay if they gave them to you in places you could do that kind of fight. But too many boss spawns have been intentionally put in places that are more challenging, which means that when 4-6 of them are up it just becomes impossible.

Also, the goo one (where enemies create goo puddles on death) needs to be applied to less enemies. Having danger spots is fine. But having so many enemies with it that you just have to stop and wait for them to pass is not. Also, they simply apply corruption way too soon after you step on them; you can’t avoid it if an enemy turns to goo right on top of you. Giving a short grace period would help make it so players get punished for not paying attention to positioning, but not take unavoidable corruption.

Warp Unbound single-handedly enabled macro left click builds. Purg crits.

While CD is a big problem, both Chorus and VoC both could be considered to be “infinite cleave” as they don’t have a limit to what they can stagger in their area.

VoC is an mean to an end, where’s the cleave is the end.

A room that is empty because you killed everyone is different and considerably more desirable than a room full of staggered or suppressed enemies

100%, not arguing differently, just that the ability to stagger an infinite amount if enemies is very strong with current densities. Also forgot to add Ogryn taunt, and to some extent Ogryn charge. (Rumbler is more of a problem because it can do this without needing a cooldown, just ammo.)
