rotating missions work fine when the missions them selves are procedurally generated maps. it does not work when the maps are fixed levels and designs.
Yah I really donât like this style of mission giving.
Checked this morning and still no investigation mission. The whole weekend it didnât appear. Hopefully it was just a bug and it doesnât happen on release, but it doesnât stop this mission selection system from being bad.
The amount of RNG in this game is really disincentivizing at times. Iâve played at least 70 missions (50+ as Psyker and 20 as Zealot per the in game mission count towards penances) and I can count on one hand the amount of emperor gifts I have received. My friend has received 4 Master Crafted curios.
I reroll every weekly challenge related to a specific map and secondary objectives because it is quite impossible to guarentee due to the awful map system.
I want this game to be good, the combat is so satisfying and fun, but dear lord the systems behind the gameplay is just abysmal. I still canât believe items and currencies are character specific ffs.
I feel like itâd work better like Payday 2âs level select. YOu have the randomly popping up missions with preset difficulties. OR you can pay a bit of a resource to play whatever level on whatever difficulty you want.
Thing about DRGâs as well, every mission type is always avaliable and every modifer is always avaliable somewhere on the map. The only thing that is every locked is two regions, but the entire map rotates every 30 minutes that it does not matter
Gacha/mobile grind they call by the nice name of a âProgression systemâ shouldnât even exist. Itâs a waste of time meant to bait players into spending real money and wasting way too much time on the game. Itâs repulsive and doesnât belong in a game like this. Vermintide 2 only became fun once you essentially broke the system by having unlimited amount of crafting materials and full level on all characters. Only then the game didnât artificially handicap players and actually allowed to have fun
Yeah, itâs poorly conceived and poorly implemented. Having to run the same 4 Diff missions over and over again or just walk away because thereâs only ever two in the selection screen and the ârandomâ rolls seem to favour a small set of missions each day is beyond tedious. The sooner itâs reworked the better, but knowing the way of such things weâll probably have to wait 1-2 years of insisting itâs a good idea before finally quietly admitting it was scuffed after all and changing it.
This is exactly whatâs going to happen. I still donât understand why fatshark refuses to listen to the community and insists that their way of setting things is always the right way, instead they chose to adhere to the wishes of weird niche streamers for a game that has little to no streaming audience. See the entire Winds of Magic debacle.
Edit: See attached image
totally agree my group absolutely hate this mission selection thing. Its got 3 missions per difficulty. a a measly 3 options to choose from at any one time if you want to play at a certain level.
If you dont like a modifier your in even worse luck, as alot of the time two or those three options will have the modifier. If you also donât like Grimoirs you might not have any mission you wanna play, which has happened to us a few times.
Playing level 1/2 games as a lvl30 player is boring unless the AI director bugs out and spawned heresy level enemies regardless of difficulty. I feel sorry for the new players on their new characters having to follow around a bunch of high geared players as they wreck absolutely everything on the map because they have nothing else to do until the maps reset
Seeing how quickly they backpedalled from not giving the players any numbers after they got relentlessly mocked gives me at least some hope that it might change if weâre loud enough
Same. Thatâs why we have to press the matter as hard and often as we can. Iâll base my decision to refund on whether weâre getting any form of acknowledgement regarding these problems until release or not.
