I quickplayed into rolling steel 3 times after once waiting for it to expire. legit the only mission i am not willing to play.
I don’t see how your problem has anything to do with the mission terminal?
If you use the quickplay feature, you should expect to be thrown into ongoing games and any redesign of the mission terminal isn’t going to change that.
If you want to play specific maps, or avoid specific maps, just don’t use the quickplay function.
why is that every response in this forum for any problem ever is “i dont have this issue” or “thats actually a feature”.?
the mission board still needs to be fixed.
quickplay needs to have options, I.e. blocking out a certain map or modifier since its how most people find games still.
The mission board has what, 3 missions in rotation per diffculty. Blocking out one is a stupid solution if you can just pick one of the other two and see if the que pops or not. Alternatively (if you are confident/skilled enough) the auric board basicly doubles the ammount of searchable missions.
WHAT we need is a real mission and map selection instead of the randomized offering on the terminal but that is a different problem to blocking out undesirable maps.
we need mission select agreed. but quickplay still needs work.
I enjoy joining teams in on going missions its a chance to help out a team that needs it and make some extra dockets at a lower time investment.
its a win win for myself and the people that really need backup i dont think we should relegate people with 1 or more bots to their fate and nuke their chances just because deselecting modifiers is bad for some reason.
I’m guessing no or they would’ve at any point said anything about it. They don’t even really acknowledge the complaint, and they even removed a playtester for raising the issue (to be fair, he did it during a Fatshark stream). It seems set in stone
At this point? No. Seems like one of the many technical debts the game has, meaning it would cost a crapton of time and resources to remake/improve it.
took us almost two years for bulwarks to lose the invisible shield and ragers to become dodgable.
have faith we only need to voice our opinions in a coherent enough manor.
I didn’t in any way suggest that the mission terminal is in a good state.
And then quickplay stops being so quick to find games.
you need to go over set theory excluding 1 map isnt the same as deleting the whole thing
I understand were you are coming from but quick play is quick play. Not trying to say its a feature or sorts but it is suposed to be this way else it would not be quick play.
The benefit is less time investment with a higher reward, the downside is you can join a mission you dont prefer or one that is with lower level players.
I wouldn’t want to quickplay 1/3rd of a mission, a meh one at that, instead of a regular full sized one either, but QP’s advantages are not worth it over manually selecting a map from the already limited rotation.
I usually select Excise Vault.
personally i really don’t. even if the game had the population to run every map and it doesn’t by a long way. if they do a mission select we will end up just playing the same 1-3 maps over and over, i have never seen a game where you can select the specific map not end up removing all variety.
there should be some room to avoid or at least greatly reduce the occurrence of a few select thumbed down maps/modifiers.
VT2?
The only real map that was being skipped, even in QP, was Blightreaper because ppl hated the initial dark+torch section.
People enjoy variety, currently it’s artificially constricted, and I don’t see the current population as an issue. Allowing mission select may also keep a strike team (party) together as it would allow a team to “go through the rotation”.
“I want the 10% bonus reward without any of the risk.”
Nah, the game has plenty of issues that need ironing out but quickplay is not one of them.
I think him encouraging and coordinating a spam attack on the livestream’s chat was the greater issue. That behavior is generally frowned upon even when you aren’t a partner.
It does go to show to what extent said community felt the complaint has been ignored so far, if nothing else
I think this is the issue. The ques are currently pretty decent most of the time. If you ballooned the number of possible missions by like 10, they would not be.
Currently there is like 20 missions on the boards (not in game this is a guess), but there is what like 150 plus possible difficulty/mission combinations. So you might pick the mission you like and have to wait 10-15 minutes for a crew. Something like a third of playtime waiting for team mates? No thanks. I’d much prefer a short list in conjunction with decent que times.
This isn’t even factoring in tech aspects and if their infrastructure is even up to this, which is another issue all to itself.
Personally I’d like a totally random mission. Form a team and just generate a random mission, but I’m sort of ok with the mission board as is.
If they don’t want to give mission selection, quick play should be able to choose any mission if there are no lobbies to backfill. Currently quickplay itself is extremely neutered because its map selection is limited to the maps currently on the board.
We currently have some of the worst implementations when it comes to both mission selection and quick play.
where have i said that? the “risk” is the threat level i dont wanna play god awful maps that have broken events/spawns or just bad design
