I know there is multiple thread on this point but the patchs comes and goes and the chainweapons still feels like metallic bats on their movesets.
My suggestions are that all movesets that makes the chainweapons stick to the mobs needs to add a latching/sawing animation and that the special moveset adds sawing decals on the mobs so that you don’t chainsaw a bullwark with the chainsword on the back to see no visible damages on his body.Funny thing is that the unreved moveset does put a sawing decals on the mobs so it doesn’t make sense that a more poverful motor action does not.
A rework the sound of the chainweapons on flak armoured mob could be nice too since the bonk on hit doesn’t really sell the chainweapon fantasy.
In my opinion,chainaxe and eviscerator are better served than the chainsword which is really the one that feels like a bat but they are not perfect either.
Now i know that some of you don’t like the stickyness of the chainweapon moveset so how it could be implemented could be a blessing that would add shredding to the unreved moveset,a bit like the sitcky bomb changes the properties of the grenade launcher on the ogryn.That way ,we could have a moveset like it is now (but with sound and damage decals reworks to better sells the chain part of the weapon)with a possibility for people(such as me )to get a chainier chainweapons.
A big problem I have with a lot of these weapons is how terrible the rev’d light attacks are. Does it really need to be the same attack but worse? Only Mk15 Eviscerator is saved from this.
But with the recent Rager nerf literally just mashing melee with Mk4 Chainaxe martyrdom all game is one of the strongest Zealot builds that isn’t a knife or axe, the Mk15 is fully a joke weapon with perfect strike (along with old Evis but you need to use combos and something else for Crushers) and the chainswords while not to my tastes run circles on similar mobility weapons while packing above average horde clear. They work, they’re just disappointing for the whole chain carnage stick. Minus the Mk4 chainaxe at the moment, that is straight rip and tear and one of the most viscerally satisfying weapons to use well done Fat Shark. Make the rest like that.
It was just as strong before the rager nerf, and it is much better than any normal Axe build. I can’t comment on knife because I don’t use it, but it has extremely, extremely tough competition in the mk4 chaxe that it’s mobility will have to put in overtime to compete with.
So it’s still insane to me inexorable judgement got a nerf while martydom was untouched.
That was definitely riding alongside the ammo nerf, since in general judgment keystone + annointed + dance of death is something Vet wishes he had…before adding fury of the faithful. And most of those also impacted melee. One of those had to give slightly.
But chainaxe before the update was literally just weak to the rager pack since you couldn’t reliably out-distance a group of desyncing animations. I would go through half my knives to feel safe picking off just a couple stragglers. Now its definitely 100% melee only viable.
