Just to preface, yes, I’ve done the bell puzzle, and I’ve earned all but this one penance for The Orthus Offensive. I’ve got everyone to ring the bell. We teleport to the Secret Hard Mode Destination Point, defeat the boss but no penance?
I’ve beaten this on Auric and Damnation and Heresy (It seems to bump the difficulty level up by one.) And it’s failed to unlock on all three sessions. No unlocks still.
Edit: I didn’t ring the right bell. Two bells left and right. Right bell was correct way.
In order to complete the penance you have to go through the map and ring all the bells the correct amount of times. If you did it correctly you will hear a special sound after the final bell.
You can’t have someone that has unlocked the teleport bells at the start ring it and teleport to the boss fight. That does not unlock the challenge.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o26vKl70vZo Gabriel is incorrect. Complete the bell puzzle, and on the next playthrough, you’ll have two bells near the start. Ring the right bell to actually start secret hardmode. Turns out I was just ringing the wrong bell.
I’ve heard they nerfed the fight a while ago, so it’s not so tough now & you don’t have to be a crazy try-hard sweat, in order to win. It sucks, because I actually had to do it when it was on the harder side, lol. But yeah, like Dragov said, beat it first, then right bell on the next one. Man, this was like two-years-ago or something like that, as I recall. I didn’t know people were still playing it, thought it was a dead mode, honestly.
Since the twins appear in other missions now, the only real reason to play is the penances. It’s a few I’ve not got as before it was impossible to do them without other people and the mode was dead so I gave up with them. I’ll try again soon if it’s now possible
