Targeting Adjustment Suggestions: "Run 'n' Gun" Blessing

Hey all!

I think the general consensus is that there are a few weapon blessings that underperform or are outshined by other possible blessings from the same pool for that particular weapon; one of the blessings I’ve been mulling over in particular lately is Run ‘n’ Gun, so I wanted to see what the overall stance towards this blessing is like right now, if other players feel it could stand to be improved, and how it can potentially be improved if so.

Run ‘n’ Gun (“You can Hipfire with this weapon while Sprinting.”)
Blessing available for the following weapons:

  • Graia Mk VIII Infantry Autogun
  • Columnus Mk V Infantry Autogun
  • Agripinaa Mk I Infantry Autogun
  • Rifthaven Mk II Purgatus Force Staff
  • Nomanus Mk VI Surge Force Staff
  • Equinox MK III Trauma Force Staff
  • Equinox Mk IV Voidstrike Force Staff
  • Lorenz Mk V Kickback
  • Accatran MG Mk II Heavy Laspistol
  • Zarona Mk IIa Quickdraw Stub Revolver

My thoughts on the state of this blessing: I feel like it has some potential in a few particular cases (such as the Purgatus staff), but there are also weapons where it doesn’t provide much of a benefit if any at all; I was thinking about how this blessing’s function could be changed in a way that will make it more universally useful across more weapon types without making it overpowered (or making any of its current optimal weapons absurdly powerful, either).

What I’d like to see is an addition to its current effect, which would effectively allow us to reload while sprinting, perhaps at a lower rate than normal. I think that reducing the rate by about 10-35% would be fair. This could potentially provide interesting synergy with, and possibly increase the utility of, weapon perks and feats that increase reload speed as well.

I haven’t played a Psyker yet, so I’m not really sure what can be improved for this blessing for weapons such as Force staffs; off the top of my head, maybe it could allow the psyker to quell their peril while sprinting instead?

But of course that’s just one player’s opinion, and you might feel differently! What are your thoughts on the matter?

Another problem with Run n Gun at least with Purgatus staff is that it only works if you first start sprinting and then use the primary fire. It should definitely allow to also first use primary fire and then allow sprinting from that as well. The current iteration makes it very clunky to use.
