Suggestions to improve the talent screen

The new talent system is cool but I find it to be a little clunky. This sort of node system works well in Path of Exile because you only need to place one or two points when you level up, but in Darktide maxed characters start with 30 points and reroll constantly. I have some ideas to streamline things:

  1. Allow players to select multiple talents at once when there is only one path.

Lets say you select a blitz ability, the next talent is just a dot which branches off into two passives. Currently you have to click the dot and the passive you want separately. My idea is that you could just click the passive you want and the dot will fill in automatically. When you “chain” abilities like this the game would highlight all of the talents in the chain that you will pay points for.

  1. Allow us to hold RMB and delete all talents below a selected point

Currently if you want to make broad changes to your build like swapping to a different blitz but keeping your keystone the same, you are forced to delete individual talents all the way back to the part of the tree you want to change, or just delete the entire thing and start over. A mass-delete option would save us a lot of time without requiring us to reset the whole thing.

Yes please. Backtracking through each point is pretty tedious, and resetting the entire tree to unwind 10-15 talent points is much the same.

Another thing that might help is a sort of “autocomplete” system where you click on a node far down the tree and the game automatically fills in the shortest route to that node. If there are multiple possible branches it will just pick one at random and the player can go back later and tweak things. This would be very helpful but also a lot more involved from a programming perspective compared to the first suggestion because it would need a kind of search algorithm.

I think it would be worth the effort because all builds are based around the three-keystone system. Players could simply click one of the mutually exclusive options at each tier and then fill in the surrounding blanks instead of laboriously filling out the entire tree one click at a time.
